Tata Motors has officially launched the new Tigor EV. The Tata Tigor EV is now on sale across a few Asian markets in four variants- XE, XM, XZ+, and XZ+ DT. According to Tata motors, the Tigor EV will be launched in Nepal in the coming months. The electric sedan has also received a 4-star rating in the Global NCAP crash tests. The new Tata Tigor EV has shared the powertrain from the Nexon EV and will be the second Tata EV powered by the new technology. Nexon EV will be offered in 2 colors for now: Egyptian Blue and Pearlescent White.
The new Tata Tigor EV comes with an IP67-rated 26kWh battery pack and an electric motor producing 75PS/170Nm (54PS/75Nm less than the Nexon EV). It has an ARAI-claimed range of 306km. The 2021 Tigor EV can be charged from 0-80 percent within an hour via fast charging and in 8.5 hours with a home charger and it also comes with an 8-year or 1.6 lakh km battery and motor warranty.
The Tigor EV comes with a host of features including auto AC, a height-adjustable driver seat, a 7-inch Harman touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. It also gets keyless entry, push-button start/stop, and 30+ connected car tech features. In terms of safety, the EV packs all the necessary safety bits like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, options rear parking camera, and seat belt reminder among others.
The Tigor EV is priced from Rs. 11.99 - 13.14 Lakh in India while the price is yet to be revealed for the Nepalese market. While it doesn’t have any direct rivals, once launched in Nepal it will go up against the upcoming Mahindra KUV100 EV.
