The Japanese two-wheeler maker Yamaha is planning to launch the Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter in the Nepalese market. As per the latest media reports, the Yamaha Aerox is going to hit the market around the festive season which is around Dashain and Tihar. At present, the scooter is already available in various Southeast Asian markets, including Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. MAW Enterprises Pvt. Ltd is the only authorized dealer of Yamaha Scooters in Nepal which offers three different Yamaha scooter models in the country. 

The Aerox gets a BS-VI compliant 155cc engine that is similar to the R15. In terms of power, it will produce 11kW at 8000 rpm, which is equivalent to 14.75HP. The engine is a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, single-cylinder SOHC engine. According to the company, the engine has a fuel injection system and Blue Core Technology. The overall body dimensions of the scooter remain 700mm in width, 1980mm in length, and 1150mm in height with a wheelbase of 1350mm. The scooter is covered by a disc at the front and a drum at the back while the suspension is handled by front telescopic forks and dual rear shocks.

The scooter comes with a host of features. The upcoming scooter has a large 25-liter under-seat storage space. It is expected to come with connectivity features like Bluetooth that will be accessible through Yamaha’s mobile app. Some other anticipated features include an LCD instrument cluster, keyless operation, LED illumination, as well as a charging socket. The Aerox comes with 14-inch wheels and is constructed on the same chassis as the NMax 155.  

Some sources revealed that the maxi-scooter could be launched by Dashain 2021. However, it has not been confirmed by Yamaha yet, but the expectations are high. Talking about the price, it is likely to come at about NRs 4.80 lakhs. While it doesn’t have any direct rivals, once launched in Nepal it will go up against the Aprilia SXR 160.  Here are the complete specifications of the upcoming Yamaha Aerox 155 in Nepal.
