Yamaha has officially opened bookings for the much-awaited MT-15 Version 2.0 in Nepal. MAW Enterprises, the official distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal, is set to introduce the upgraded Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 to the Nepalese market. The official launch is expected at the forthcoming NADA Auto Show 2024. Known for its aggressive styling, superior performance, and cutting-edge technology, this latest iteration of the MT-15 is set to make waves in the Nepalese market.
The Yamaha MT-15 2024 is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve, liquid-cooled, SOHC FI, BS6 engine that generates a max power of 18.4PS at 10000 rpm and a max torque of 14.1Nm at 7500 rpm. The power remains unchanged, but the torque has improved slightly from 13.9 Nm at 8500 rpm in the previous model to 14.1 Nm at 7500 rpm in the new version. This engine has a 6-speed gearbox with an assist & slipper clutch (ASC). The bike features a self-starter as the sole ignition method.
Yamaha has equipped the MT-15 Version 2.0 with a host of advanced features. It features a Bi-Functional LED headlight with Twin-LED DRLs, a prominent LED taillight, and LED indicators. It also comes equipped with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), a DeltaBox frame, USD forks, a cast aluminum swingarm, and various other advanced components. It comes with a Digital Instrument Cluster that displays key information like gear position and fuel gauge and also offers Bluetooth connectivity for added convenience.
The MT-15 Version 2.0 continues the "Dark Warrior of Japan" theme with its striking and attention-grabbing front design. The suspension duties are handled by an upside-down front fork and a linked-type monocross system. Additionally, the golden front forks provide a premium touch, thanks to the new upside-down suspension system. For safety, the MT-15 Version 2.0 has dual disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, a traction control system, a quick shifter for smooth upshifts, a side-stand engine cut-off switch, and rear radial tyres.
The Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 measures 2015 mm in length, 800 mm in width, and 1070 mm in height, with a 1325 mm wheelbase (10 mm shorter than the previous model). The bike offers a ground clearance of 170 mm and has a kerb weight of 141 kg. The fuel tank has a capacity of 10 litres, and the anticipated mileage is approximately 45 kilometres per litre. The front tyre is 100/80-17 with a disc brake, the rear tyre is 140/70-R17 with a disc brake, and the top speed is 130 km/h.
