High-Range Electric Motorcycles: What Nepalese Riders Should Know

Verge TS Ultra side profile view

Electric motorcycles are evolving fast—and the Verge TS Ultra is a glimpse into where things are headed. While it's not launching in Nepal anytime soon, its specs have caught global attention. And for riders here, it gives a clear picture of what to expect from premium electric two-wheelers in the near future.

375 KM Claimed Range and Fast Charging

The biggest standout? The TS Ultra claims a maximum range of 375 km on a single charge. That puts it right at the top of long-range electric motorcycles.

And with DC fast charging, it can reach 80% in just 25 minutes. That kind of speed could make longer road trips on an EV much more realistic—something that’s still rare in Nepal’s current market.

A Torque Monster: 1,200 Nm and 201 HP

Under the seat, this bike is anything but ordinary. The hubless rear-wheel motor produces 201 horsepower and 1,200 Nm of torque. To give you context, that’s more torque than most cars on our roads.

You get 0–100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and it’s capped at a top speed of 200 km/h. That makes it comparable to high-end petrol sport bikes.

What’s That Rear Wheel? Hubless Tech Explained

Verge’s signature move is the integrated rim motor—basically, the motor lives inside the rear wheel. No visible hub. That means fewer moving parts, more efficiency, and a clean, futuristic look.

It also frees up space in the body to pack in a bigger battery. Combine that with a monocoque aluminum frame, and you get a bike that’s light, solid, and stable.

Built for the Road—and the Cloud

Verge TS Ultra radical design

The Verge TS Ultra isn’t just fast—it’s smart. Its Starmatter software platform supports over-the-air (OTA) updates. So the bike improves over time, like your phone does.

Safety-wise, it’s got six cameras and two radars offering 360° awareness. That includes blind-spot monitoring and collision warnings—something not even seen in many premium bikes today.

How It Stacks Up Against Other Electric Bikes

What This Means for Nepalese EV Fans

Even if the Verge TS Ultra never officially launches in Nepal, it gives a clear direction for what’s coming:

  • EVs are getting faster, smarter, and more efficient.

  • High-end electric bikes will soon be competitive with petrol superbikes.

  • We’ll need better charging infrastructure to support machines like this.

With government incentives, rising fuel costs, and improved tech, Nepal’s electric two-wheeler market is primed for disruption. Verge may not be here yet—but the gap is closing fast.
