Yamaha, the renowned Japanese motorcycle manufacturer, is all set to make its mark in the Nepalese electric scooter market with the launch of the highly anticipated Yamaha EMF Electric Scooter. Yamaha recently introduced this highly anticipated EMF electric scooter, featuring a futuristic design and an exciting innovation - swappable batteries. It was developed in collaboration with Taiwanese battery powerhouse Gogoro and incorporates Gogoro's battery-swapping technology. This groundbreaking feature allows riders to conveniently exchange a depleted battery for a fully charged one, eliminating the need to wait at a fast-charging station for the battery to recharge.


Equipped with an advanced electric motor, the Yamaha EMF Electric Scooter delivers powerful performance. It is powered by a 7.6kWh mid-mounted motor that generates a maximum power output of 10 bhp at 3,000 rpm and a peak torque of 26 Nm at 2,500 rpm. The scooter has two removable Gogoro-compatible Lithium batteries for a range of 110 km. According to the company, the scooter can accelerate from 0-50kph in 3.5 seconds. The chassis is suspended by a telescopic fork at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear while the braking duties are equipped by discs at the front and back with CBS.


The Yamaha EMF Electric Scooter boasts a sleek and modern design that effortlessly blends style and functionality. It comes equipped with an LED headlamp, afterburner-styled dual LED tail lights, large storage space, digital instrument console with turn-by-turn navigation, battery status, speed, distance, last parked location and various connectivity features accessible via the official Yamaha app. They have also added small storage space in between the rider’s legs. The scooter has a wireless RFID key that connects to a smartphone. It also comes with ergonomic seating, providing both comfort and elegance. 


Yamaha's entry into the electric scooter market with the Yamaha EMF Electric Scooter is set to mark a significant milestone in the Nepalese automobile industry. It comes with four color options including Dark Black, Dark Green, Sugar White, and Light Blue. As per the most recent update, the scooter is scheduled to make its debut in Nepal either at the start of 2024 or in the middle of the same year. Bookings for the scooter are expected to commence shortly. The price of Yamaha EMF in Nepal is expected to be around NRs. 4.50 lakhs. With its powerful performance, striking design and cutting-edge technology, this electric scooter is set to become a game-changer in the Nepalese market
