Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Tata Nexon EV in Nepal, featuring a powerful 50 kW motor. Tata Motors India has officially revealed the motor power details for the forthcoming Nexon EV facelift (Nexon.ev) on its official website. The updated Nexon EV model is scheduled to be introduced in Nepal soon. This highly anticipated electric vehicle (EV) is not only a testament to Tata's commitment to eco-friendly transportation but also a significant stride in the Nepalese automotive industry's transition towards electrification.
The upcoming Nexon EV facelift in Nepal will feature a 50 kW motor, distinguishing it from its Indian counterpart, which boasts a more robust 95 kW motor. This variance in motor power highlights a notable difference between the two models available in these distinct markets. However, additional details about its stated range, battery specifications, and charging time are still under wraps. These specifics are slated to be unveiled at the time of its official launch. The Nexon EV, currently available in the Nepalese market, offers two main configurations: Medium Range and Long Range variants.
In addition to its robust motor, the Tata Nexon Facelift will maintain the familiar design and features of its predecessor, with subtle alterations in line with the Curvv concept. Notable updates include a revamped front fascia, new alloy wheels, and connected LED tail lamps. A distinctive LED light bar now links the Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), providing a sleek aesthetic touch. The signature DRLs also serve as a visual indicator, showcasing the battery charge levels. The rear of the vehicle features a connected light bar with a welcoming and farewell sequence, complemented by concealed rear wipers.
The interior of the upcoming Tata Nexon electric SUV mirrors the design aesthetics of its traditional internal combustion engine counterpart. It showcases a fully adaptable high-definition instrument cluster, a standalone cinematic 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system featuring Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality. The vehicle boasts a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo, touch-based climate control, wireless charging, an electric sunroof, and an air purifier. Additionally, it introduces a cutting-edge 9-speaker JBL sound system with a subwoofer, a cooled glove box, and ventilated car seats, among an array of other advanced features.
In the realm of safety, the Tata Nexon EV ensures a comprehensive protective package. It features disc brakes on each of its four wheels, standardizing six airbags for enhanced safety. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, an electronic parking brake, and both Hill Descent Control and Hill Ascent Control for navigating varied terrains seamlessly. The advanced safety measures extend to an Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Intelligent Vehicle Based Active Control (iVBAC), a Blind Spot View Monitor, and a 360 Surround View Camera System, among other safety enhancements.
The Tata Nexon EV is priced in Nepal between NRs. 38,99,000 and NRs. 47,99,000. The upcoming facelift is expected to be slightly more expensive than its current model. The exact pricing details for the facelift in Nepal will be disclosed at the time of its official launch. It will compete against the likes of MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric in the Nepalese market. The Tata Nexon EV is not just a car; it's a step towards a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for Nepal's roads.
