Proton Motors is all set to launch the compact SUV X50 in Nepal. The Proton X50 is a compact crossover SUV produced by the Malaysian carmaker Proton. Marketed as a C-segment SUV, the C-SUV segment is one of the hottest segments in Nepal and X50 offers great space and maneuverability. Jagadamba Motors, the authorized distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal has also confirmed the arrival of Proron X50 in Nepal. Proton is the subsidiary of Geely, a Chinese brand that has been selling its products in the Nepalese market.
The Proton X50 is powered by a 1.5T and 1.5TGDi engine which is available in two states of tune. Both engines are powered by a 1.5L 3-Cylinder Turbocharged DOHC Petrol Engine. The 1.5T engine can generate a max power of 150PS and a max torque of 226Nm while the 1.5TGDi engine can generate a max power of 177PS and a max torque of 255Nm. It comes with a standard 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Proton X50 comes with a sporty exterior styling, a well-equipped interior, and unique styling features. It includes full LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, quad tailpipes, an LED color instrument panel, a wide stand-alone infotainment system, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, and remote engine start. In terms of safety, it includes 6-Airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keep Assist, TPMS, and Auto Park Assist. The car scored a 5-star safety rating in the ASEAN-NCAP crash test.
Proton X50 comes in six different colors including White, Grey, Brown, Blue, Orange, and Red. Proton X50's price in Nepal is yet to be revealed by the company.
