Kia Motors has officially revealed the facelifted version of its iconic EV6. The updated Kia EV now sports revised front-end design elements, incorporating subtle tweaks, additional features and interior adjustments. With its cutting-edge design, groundbreaking technology, and eco-conscious engineering, the Kia EV6 Facelift is poised to redefine the driving experience in Nepal and beyond by 2025. The refreshed EV6 also comes with an expanded battery pack.
The new Kia EV6 now comes with a new front-end look. Instead of regular headlights, the new Kia EV6 has stylish angular LED daytime running lights. Its front bumper and lower grill also have a cool new appearance that matches the other updates. The tail lamps and the bumper also get small changes. Inside, the EV6 facelift boasts a curved panoramic screen that accommodates both the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment display. The new two-spoke steering wheel features a fingerprint reader, enabling registered drivers to start the car without a key.
The facelift also includes an upgraded digital rear-view mirror, enhanced head-up display, and an AI-driven navigation system similar to newer Genesis models. This navigation setup utilises the front camera and incorporates graphic overlays for improved guidance. In addition to these features and the updated alloy wheels, available in either 19 or 20 inches depending on the variant and market, the overall exterior look of the EV6 remains mostly unchanged.
The Kia EV6 also boasts a new standard in safety features. It has several safety features including automated emergency braking, automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. It also gets remote parking assistance, vehicle stability management (VSM)), electronic stability control (ESC), multiple airbags, collision mitigation (rear), aerial view camera system, and many more.
The EV6 facelift now boasts a new battery configuration, utilising Hyundai Motor Group's latest 84 kWh battery instead of the previous 77.4 kWh pack. With this upgrade, the EV6 facelift RWD variant equipped with 19-inch wheels can now achieve approximately 494km on a single charge, an improvement from the previous 475km. This range estimation provided by Kia is derived from testing conducted in the Korean market.
As per the manufacturer, the upgraded battery now supports 350kW DC charging and is reportedly capable of charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. The EV6 RWD models are equipped with a motor generating 225hp and 350Nm of torque, while the dual-motor versions boast 320hp and 605Nm of torque. Kia mentions that the EV6 facelift is equipped with frequency-selective dampers, enhancing the comfort of the ride. The suspension duties are handled by McPherson Strut and Multi-Link Type (with High-Performance Damper).
Kia is expected to introduce the EV6 facelift in Nepal sometime next year. With its stunning design, exhilarating performance, and cutting-edge technology, the EV6 represents the next evolution of electric vehicles. So, if you're as excited as we are about the future of electric mobility, be sure to stay tuned for all the latest updates on this groundbreaking vehicle.
