The electric scooter industry is on the brink of a significant transformation, driven by an innovative collaboration between two pioneering companies: Yatri Motorcycles and Sipradi Trading. Referred to as the P2 Project, this partnership represents a major achievement for both companies. The partnership aims to shake up the stagnant market by providing affordable and exciting Yatri products, bringing a new take on sustainable transportation.

Yatri Motorcycles introduced Nepal's first locally produced electric motorcycle, the P-1, pioneering the country's electric vehicle market. Meanwhile, Sipradi Trading has been the exclusive distributor of Tata Motors in Nepal since 1982, solidifying its leading role in the automotive sector there. This partnership uses Sipradi's deep automotive industry expertise to boost sustainable transportation. Yatri seeks to transform the electric scooter market with cutting-edge, affordable models designed for broad use.

According to the latest report, Sipradi Trading will significantly support Yatri Motorcycles, fostering engineering innovation and advancing transportation solutions. Ashim Pandey, Founder and CEO of Yatri, stated, This collaboration lets us create affordable, advanced electric vehicles and expand our regional network. Similarly, Sipradi CEO Rajan Babu Shrestha emphasised that the thorough planning and detailed research behind this Joint Venture reflect our commitment to a lasting partnership with Yatri and our focus on addressing wider mobility issues.

Founded in 2017 with a mission to revolutionize urban mobility, Yatri Motorcycles has set out to demonstrate that Nepal can produce top-tier electric vehicles. Recently, the domestic manufacturer announced a pioneering advancement: the upcoming Yatri P1 Gen2 dual sport electric motorcycle will be the world’s first electric two-wheeler platform to incorporate wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Anticipated for release in the summer of 2024, this development marks a significant leap forward in the industry.

Yatri and Sipradi's commitment to innovation, sustainability, and accessibility will undoubtedly inspire other players in the industry to follow suit, leading to a cleaner, greener future for urban transportation. Both companies conveyed deep gratitude to all who contributed to making this partnership a reality, especially the diverse cross-functional team from Sipradi and Yatri. This dedicated team included experts from technology, finance, operations, and board members, alongside core team members, technical and non-technical staff, and in-house financial consultants.
