Jeep Automobile maker is all set to launch its new highly-anticipated SUV Meridian in Nepal. MAW Life, the authorized distributor of Jeep vehicles in Nepal, will commence the bookings of Jeep Meridian in the coming days followed by the price announcement and launch by mid-2023. The Jeep brand has a reputation for producing rugged and dependable vehicles, and the Meridian certainly lives up to that reputation. It will be available in the top-specs LIMITED (O) variant option only. The Jeep Meridian has a bold and distinctive design that sets it apart from other SUVs in its class.
Jeep Meridian is powered by a 2.0L multijet II turbo diesel engine that generates a max power of 170PS at 3750rpm and a max torque of 350Nm at 1750-2500rpm. This engine is mated to a 9-Speed automatic transmission. The Meridian comes with four-wheel drive and a range of off-road features, including skid plates, tow hooks, and a locking rear differential. It comes with a capacity 60-litre fuel tank giving a mileage of around 16 kmpl. The suspension duties of Meridian are covered by a McPherson Strut and Multi-Link handle. Thanks to its high ground clearance and all-terrain tires, the Meridian is capable of handling a wide range of off-road conditions.
But that's not all - the Meridian also comes with a range of advanced features that make it the perfect vehicle for adventure-seekers. It comes equipped with an LED projector headlamp with distinctive LED DRLs, an LED tail lamp connected through a chromed line, sporty alloy wheels, a dual-tone exterior paint job, generous use of chrome in its detailing, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. It also comes with a panoramic sunroof, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless phone charging, powered front seats with ventilation and a powered tailgate among others.
The Jeep Meridian comes standard with a range of advanced safety features. The safety unit includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, traction control, rollover mitigation, hill start assist (HSA), hill descent control (HDC) and antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). It includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane departure warning. It also includes blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which can help drivers avoid collisions when changing lanes or backing up. The vehicle can also ford water up to 30 inches deep.
Jeep Meridian's price in Nepal is NRs. 1.80 Crore. It comes in five different colours: Red, Green, Black, White, and Grey. The Jeep Meridian will rival the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq in the Nepalese market.
