Hero MotoCorp, one of the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturers, officially launches the Hero Splendor+ XTEC 2.0. This special model commemorates the 30th anniversary of Hero’s timeless commuter bike. Hero is set to launch the Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 in Nepal in the coming days. However, CG Motors, the authorized distributor of Hero motorcycles and scooters in Nepal, has not yet provided an exact date for the launch. This new iteration of the Splendor series promises to redefine the daily commute, blending advanced technology with the reliability and efficiency that the Splendor is known for.
Under the hood, the Hero Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 houses a refined 100cc engine that perfectly blends power and fuel efficiency. It is powered by a simple air-cooled, 97.2cc engine that generates a maximum power of 8.02hp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. This engine is mated to a 4-speed gearbox. It is equipped with double drum brakes but does not feature disc brakes or ABS. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at the front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.
One of the most exciting features of the Hero Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 is the integration of modern technology. Hero MotoCorp has equipped the bike with its advanced XTEC technology, which includes Bluetooth connectivity. This feature allows riders to pair their smartphones with the motorcycle, providing turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, distance covered and many more. Including an integrated USB charger ensures that your devices are always powered up. It also gets hazard lights, an LED headlight, an H-shaped DRL and an H-shaped tail light. The bike also has an electric starter, a side-stand engine cut-off, alloy wheels, and an Idle Stop-Start System (i3S).
In terms of dimensions, the Hero Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 measures 2,000 mm in length, 720 mm in width, and 1,052 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,236 mm. It has a kerb weight of 112 kg and a ground clearance of 165 mm. The seat height is 785 mm. Hero claims that the Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 has a fuel tank capacity of 9.8 litres, a reserve capacity of 1.0 litre, and a fuel efficiency rating of 73 kilometres per litre. Hero's i3S start-stop system supports this impressive efficiency. The wheels are 18 inches in size and feature tubeless tyres. The front and rear tyres have dimensions of 80/100 - 18.
What sets this bike apart from the rest of the lineup is its sleek dual-tone colour scheme. Additionally, the indicator housings have a different shape compared to the typical square ones found on other Splendor models. Once launched in Nepal, the Hero Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 will be pricier than other bikes in the Splendor series. It will compete with the upcoming Honda Shine 100 and the Bajaj Platina 100 in the Nepalese market. The Hero Splendor+ XTEC 2.0 is more than just a bike, it’s a testament to Hero MotoCorp’s vision of blending innovation with reliability.
