Citroen has officially launched the much-anticipated eC3 Premium Shine variant in Nepal. Shangrila Motors Private Limited, the authorized distributor of Citroen in Nepal, has announced the launch of a new top-spec Shine variant of the eC3 electric hatchback in Nepal. The standard Citroën eC3 electric car made its debut in Nepal a few months back. With the recent launch of the Shine variant, there are now two versions available in the Nepalese market. This new variant of electric hatchback is a statement of innovation, sustainability, and modern design.
While the overall design of the Citroën eC3 remains unchanged, the Shine variant now includes several modern features. These include wing mirrors, a rear parking camera, 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a rear wiper-washer, and a rear defogger. The new variant will feature faux skid plates on both the front and rear, along with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. It maintains a bold front grille, split halogen headlamps paired with LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and an LED tail lamp adorned with a chrome emblem.
The Citroën eC3 Shine variant retains several features from the current model, such as a 10.2-inch touchscreen supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual air conditioning, a four-speaker stereo system, keyless entry, and a digital driver’s display. It comes equipped with steering wheel-mounted controls, providing convenient access to its features. Additionally, it offers three USB ports, a 12V outlet, and a designated space for your smartphone. For added style and functionality, optional features include fender-mounted turn indicators, a roof antenna, and the option to choose a dual-tone colour scheme.
Citroen strongly emphasises safety, and the eC3 Premium Shine is no exception. Regarding safety, it gets stability control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. It is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors for enhanced safety measures. It also has a heads-up display, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking. Additionally, it is equipped with advanced driver-assistance features, such as lane-keeping assist and automatic emergency braking.
The powertrain of the eC3 remains unchanged in the Shine variant. It is powered by a 42kW permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates a max power of 57PS and a max torque of 143Nm. It is also powered by a high-energy-density lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 29.2kWh. Whether at home, work or on the go, this hatchback offers multiple charging solutions. The eC3 boasts an impressive claimed range of 320 km on a full charge. Using the onboard 3.3kW charger, the battery takes about 10.5 hours to charge from 10% to 100%. It also works with a 50 kW DC fast charger, which can charge it from 10% to 80% in only 57 minutes.
The Citroen eC3 premium shine variant price in Nepal is NRs. 35.99 lakhs. The launch of the Citroen eC3 Premium Shine in Nepal is more than just a new car on the market, it signifies the country's growing commitment to embracing electric mobility.
