Royal Enfield, a brand synonymous with timeless style and rugged exploration, is all set to launch its latest marvel - the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 in Nepal. Royal Enfield has plans to unveil six new models throughout the financial year. Among these, the initial release is scheduled for the Guerrilla 450, expected to hit the market between July and September 2024. While the specific models destined for the Nepalese market remain uncertain, there are strong indications that the Guerrilla 450 will be available in Nepal by the end of 2024, as per multiple sources.
Royal Enfield has officially revealed that the Guerrilla 450 will be launched on July 17 in Barcelona. This announcement was made by Siddhartha Lal, the Managing Director, and Govindarajan Balakrishnan, the company's CEO. The timeline for its arrival in the Asian market is still unconfirmed, but it is anticipated to be around July to September 2024. This bike will be introduced to the Nepalese market following its launch in India. It will be less expensive than the Himalayan 450.
The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has been spotted testing in the International market. The design theme of the Guerrilla is minimalist and neo-retro, giving it a classic yet modern roadster appearance. Furthermore, it will employ the identical Sherpa 450 engine found in the Himalayan. The specifics of how the engine will be tuned for the Guerrilla 450 are still awaiting confirmation. In the Himalayan, this 452cc single-cylinder engine produces 40 horsepower and 40 Newton-meters of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. As we near the eagerly awaited launch, stay tuned for more updates.
The Guerrilla 450 distinguishes itself from the Himalayan by utilising a basic telescopic fork instead of a USD unit. Additionally, it swaps the Himalayan's tubed 21/18-inch wire-spoke wheels for tubeless alloy wheels, which seem to be 17-inch units on both front and rear. It's unclear if the Guerrilla 450 will feature the advanced Tripper TFT display seen in the Himalayan or if it will opt for the simpler digi-analogue display found in the Super Meteor 650.
The Guerrilla will have all LED lighting, including an LED headlight, which is becoming increasingly common in Royal Enfield bikes. The exact dimensions, including ground clearance, top speed, and kerb weight, are yet to be determined. The ABS configuration, whether single or dual-channel, is yet to be confirmed, but the Guerrilla 450 will feature dual disc brakes. Given that the Guerrilla 450 lacks certain premium features compared to the Royal Enfield Himalayan, it's likely to be priced lower than its counterpart.
We expect, Alpha Automotive, the official distributor of Royal Enfield motorcycles in Nepal to launch the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 in Nepal by the end of 2024. The Guerrilla 450 price in Nepal is expected to be around NRs. 8 lakhs. Once launched it will go up against the Honda CB300R and Husqvarna Svartpilen 401. We hope the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 will carve out its legacy in the Nepalese market, much like the other iconic Royal Enfield motorcycles have done over the years.
