Omoda, the trailblazing electric vehicle manufacturer, is gearing up to launch its much-anticipated Omoda 5 Electric SUV in 2024. SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of Chery vehicles in Nepal, is set to unveil its inaugural electric model, the Omoda 5 EV, in the country shortly. The Omoda 5 Electric Vehicle is making its debut in Nepal, marking the first entry of a Chery Omoda vehicle into the Nepali market. The specific variants of the Omoda 5 Electric SUV for the Nepalese market have not been officially confirmed as of now. As we move towards a more eco-conscious era, the Omoda 5 stands tall as a beacon of innovation and responsible driving.

The Omoda 5 Electric SUV packs a punch when it comes to performance. It is powered by a 165kW electric motor that generates a max power of 224PS and a max torque of 400Nm. It comes equipped with a 61kWh lithium-ion battery. With advancements in battery technology, the Omoda 5 promises an impressive range on a single charge. Furthermore, it boasts an estimated range of 450 kilometres on a single charge. It is equipped with dual charging capabilities, accommodating both AC and DC charging methods. Notably, the DC charging option stands out, delivering an impressive 80% charge in a mere 35 minutes. 

The sleek and aerodynamic design of this electric SUV is a testament to Omoda's commitment to merging sustainability with style. At the front, the vehicle features T-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) with dynamic turn indicators, accompanied by a distinct LED headlamp for enhanced visibility. It also features a fresh look with redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels and updated lower front and rear bumpers. It boasts a state-of-the-art 10.25-inch infotainment display compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, complemented by a matching 10.25-inch instrument cluster. 

The Omoda 5 comes equipped with a suite of advanced safety features that redefine the standards of protection on the road. The safety unit includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, traction control, rollover mitigation, hill start assist (HSA), hill descent control (HDC) and antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). It also includes blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. It also comes equipped with distinctive features, including L2S Assisted Driving, enhancing the driving experience with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The Omoda 5 Electric SUV boasts dimensions of 4400mm in length, 1830mm in width, and 1588mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2630mm. It maintains a ground clearance of 145mm, and its kerb weight ranges from 1381kg to 1610kg. The vehicle offers a spacious boot space of 360 liters, extendable to 1026 liters. The suspension duties are handled by MacPherson Independent and Twist Beam. The exact technical details and features of this innovative electric vehicle are currently undisclosed, adding an air of mystery and excitement surrounding its upcoming debut.

The price of the Omoda 5 Electric Vehicle has not been disclosed yet. However, it is anticipated to fall within the range of approximately NRs. 60 Lakhs to NRs. 1.20 Crore. Furthermore, the Omoda 5 Electric SUV will come in a variety of colors, although the specific color options have not been disclosed yet. With its striking design, state-of-the-art technology, and unwavering commitment to sustainability, Omoda has created a car that goes beyond transportation—it's a lifestyle.
