Tata Motors is gearing up to launch its latest electric vehicle, the Tiago EV in Nepal. The automotive industry in Nepal has been steadily evolving, and one of the most anticipated events of 2023 is the launch of the Tata Tiago EV, set to debut at the NADA Auto Show. The Tiago is set to become Tata Motors' first electric hatchback offering in Nepal. This electric car, with its affordability, impressive range, and modern design, has the potential to revolutionize the way Nepalese people commute. The Tiago EV has been engineered to offer outstanding performance. It comes with a choice of two battery packs that include 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery options, paired with an electric motor. The smaller unit is paired with a 45 kW motor that develops 61 PS and 105 Nm of peak torque while the larger pack comes paired with a stronger 55 kW motor developing 75 PS and 114 Nm. Additionally, it comes with various configurations of IP67-rated battery packs, ensuring resistance to water and dust. The smaller battery pack is said to provide a purported driving range of approximately 250 kilometres on a single charge, while the larger pack extends this range to about 315 kilometres. It offers a fast charging capability. It has a top speed of around 120 km/h, which is well-suited for daily commuting and urban driving.
Charging the battery is a breeze, as you have the option to utilize a regular household socket or opt for a quicker Level 2 charger, ensuring a swift return to the road. The Tiago EV supports four charging options: a 15A socket charger, a 3.3kW AC charger, a 7.2kW AC charger, and a DC fast charger. The charging periods for both batteries include:
Tata Motors has always been known for its stylish and modern designs, and the Tiago EV is no exception. It has a sleek and modern look, with sharp lines and a sporty profile. It is equipped with projector LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs, an LED taillight, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker Harman sound system, auto AC, foldable ORVMs, rain-sensing wipers, steering-mounted controls, and regenerative braking. It is also adorned with a rich tapestry of cutting-edge safety features. In terms of safety, it comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, cornering brake control, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear-view camera, and electronic stability control.
The Tata Tiago EV price in Nepal is set to be unveiled at the upcoming NADA auto show. It is offered in four trims: XE, XT, XZ+, and XZ+ Tech Lux. The XE and XT trims get the 19.2kWh battery pack, while the XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech Lux trims get the 24kWh battery pack. It is available in five colour options – Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Midnight Plum and Tropical Mist.
