Tata Motors has officially launched its latest electric vehicle, the Tiago EV in Nepal. The recent launch of the Tata Tiago Electric Vehicle (EV) in Nepal is a significant milestone not just for the automotive industry but also for the country's sustainable journey. The Tata Tiago Electric Vehicle marks Tata Motors' debut in the electric hatchback segment in Nepal. With its reasonable pricing, remarkable driving range, and contemporary aesthetics, this electric vehicle has the capability to transform the commuting landscape for the people of Nepal. It also comes with contemporary amenities and a captivating design.


The Tiago EV comes equipped with a high-capacity battery that delivers impressive range. It comes with a choice of two battery packs that include 19.2kWh and 24kWh battery options, paired with an electric motor. The smaller unit is paired with a 45 kW motor that develops 61 PS and 105 Nm of peak torque while the larger pack comes paired with a stronger 55 kW motor developing 75 PS and 114 Nm.


Additionally, it comes with various configurations of IP67-rated battery packs, ensuring resistance to water and dust. The smaller battery pack is said to provide a purported driving range of approximately 250 kilometres on a single charge, while the larger pack extends this range to about 315 kilometres. It offers a fast charging capability. It has a top speed of around 120 km/h, which is well-suited for daily commuting and urban driving.


Charging the battery is a breeze, as you have the option to utilize a regular household socket or opt for a quicker Level 2 charger, ensuring a swift return to the road. The Tiago EV supports four charging options: a 15A socket charger, a 3.3kW AC charger, a 7.2kW AC charger, and a DC fast charger. The charging periods for both batteries include:

  • 15A Socket Charger: 6.9 hours (19.2kWh), 8.7 hours (24kWh)
  • 3.3kW AC Charger: 5.1 hours (19.2kWh), 6.4 hours (24kWh) 
  • 7.2kW AC Charger: 2.6 hours (19.2kWh), 3.6 hours (24kWh)
  • DC Fast Charger: 10-80 per cent in 57 minutes for both


Tata Motors has equipped the Tiago EV with cutting-edge technology and modern designs. It has a sleek and modern look, with sharp lines and a sporty profile. It is equipped with projector LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs, an LED taillight, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a four-speaker Harman sound system, auto AC, foldable ORVMs, rain-sensing wipers, steering-mounted controls, and regenerative braking.


Tata Motors has always prioritized safety, and the Tiago EV is no exception. With advanced safety features and a sturdy build, you can drive with confidence. In terms of safety, it comes with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, cornering brake control, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear-view camera, electronic stability control, electric-brake force distribution, hill-descent control, hill ascend control and many others. 


The Tiago EV price in Nepal starts at NRs 21.99 Lakh and going up to NRs 27.99 Lakh. The Tata Tiago Electric Vehicle comes in five different versions, including the XE (Medium Range), XT (Medium and Long Range), and the XZ+ (Long Range), as well as the XZ+ Tech Plus (Long Range). It is available in five colour options – Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Midnight Plum and Tropical Mist. Nepal is ready for an electrifying change, and with the Tata Tiago EV, the journey has well and truly begun.
