Tata Motors has officially launched its highly anticipated micro SUV, the Tata Punch in Nepal. Sipradi Trading, the authorized distributor of Tata vehicles in Nepal, has launched Tata Punch in four different variants including Pure, Adventure, Accomplished, and Creative. It made its debut on the grand stage of the NADA Auto Show in 2023, where it was officially introduced to the public for the first time. This compact dynamo has captured the imagination of auto enthusiasts across the nation with its rugged charm, impressive features, and competitive pricing. The design of the Tata Punch is muscular, modern, altogether desirable, and very SUV.
Tata Punch is the first Tata SUV to be underpinned by the ALFA-ARC (Agile Light Flexible Advanced Architecture) platform and is based on the brand's Impact 2.0 design language. It is powered by a 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated, Revotron petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 86PS at 6000rpm and a max torque of 113Nm at 3300rpm. It is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard while the five-speed AMT unit is optional on the top three variants – Adventure, Accomplished and Creative. It is equipped with an automatic engine start/stop system that contributes to enhancing fuel efficiency. It boasts a fuel tank capacity of 37 litres and delivers an impressive mileage of approximately 18 kilometres per litre.
The Tata Punch boasts a design that's both rugged and stylish. It is equipped with LED daytime time running lamps (DRLs), projector headlights, squarish LED taillights, a 7-inch touchscreen system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, auto AC, automatic headlights, connected car tech (Creative i-RA pack), 16-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels and roof rails. This micro SUV is equipped with a host of safety features. In terms of safety, it is equipped with dual airbags, an antilock braking system (ABS), and electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD) as standard. The new SUV scored a full 5-star rating in adult occupant safety and a 4-star rating in child occupant safety. It provides a generous cargo capacity of 366 litres in the trunk area.
Tata Punch price in Nepal starts at NRs. 33.99 Lakhs and it goes up to NRs. 43.39 Lakhs for the top-end variant. It is available in seven different colour options including Blue, Red, Bronze, Orange, Mist, Grey, and White. It is equipped with two driving modes: Eco and City. It will compete against the likes of Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the upcoming Hyundai Exter in the Nepalese market. With its striking design, feature-packed interior, emphasis on safety, efficient powertrains, and affordable pricing, the Punch has all the ingredients to become a game-changer in its segment.
