General Motors’ minicar joint venture in China, SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), has officially launched a fully electric car Air EV in Nepal. The Wuling Air which is quite a popular electric vehicle in the International market is introduced by the Bajra Group in the Nepalese market. The Air EV is the company’s first electric vehicle launched outside China that is built on Global Small Electric Vehicle. Wuling Air EV is a four-seater and three-door hatchback that is perfect for city driving. 

Wuling Air EV comes in two battery pack options –  30 kW (40 hp) and 50 kW (67 hp) delivering a driving range of about 200 and 300 kilometers, respectively. It is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery and a permanent magnet motor. Unlike almost all the other micro cars, this compact EV will support DC fast charging. The EV can speed up to 100 kmph. It is available in two wheelbase variants including 2009 mm for the four-seat model and 1635 mm for the two-seat model.

The Air EV comes with a front fascia that features parallel headlights and a horizontal chrome bar, which further extends to the side mirrors, a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, AC, heater, steering wheel with control buttons, and split rear seats. The EV is offered in five color options including blue, green, pink, white, and yellow. It will compete against the likes of Picanto, Ignis, Rio, and Brio.
