MG Motor is all set to launch its new 5-seater SUV, MG Astor, in Nepal. According to Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, the MG Astor will be first showcased in Nepal at the 2022 NADA Auto Show. MG Astor is a well-balanced, compact SUV with a good mix of design, quality, performance, and safety. The MG Motor offers Astor in four different trims including Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp. Each trim gets an EX variant which cuts out on a few safety features.
MG Astor comes with two petrol engine options: a 1.3-liter turbocharged unit that generates a maximum power of 138 bhp and 220 Nm of torque paired with a 6-speed automatic and a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated mill that generates a maximum power of 110 bhp and 144 Nm of torque paired with 6-speed manual and CVT options. However, the Astor misses out on a diesel power train. The suspension duties are handled by MacPherson Strut at the front and Torsion Beam at the rear.
The MG Astor comes with LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lights, fog lights with cornering function, a new grille, 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, AI-driven features with voice command-based functions, a seven-inch fully-digital instrument cluster, and a 360-degree camera. It is also equipped with automatic climate control and rain-sensing wipers.
It also comes with the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping/departure assist, rear cross-traffic alert, high-beam assist, and blind spot detection. In terms of safety it is equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, brake assist, a 360-degree camera, traction control, hill hold/descent control, and disc brakes on all wheels. It also gets a fully powered driver's seat, and an electronic parking brake.
The MG Motor offers Astor in four different trims - Style, Super, Smart, and Sharp. It is available in five colors - Spiced Orange, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White, and Starry Black. The MG Astor price in Nepal is expected to be around NRs.50 - NRs.70 Lakhs. MG Astor will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Nissan Kicks, and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross.
