Hyundai Nepal has stepped into a new era of innovation by unveiling its first motor assembly plant in the country. This significant milestone marks a monumental shift in the automotive landscape of Nepal, promising not just locally assembled vehicles but also a burgeoning wave of economic growth and technological advancement. When Hyundai introduces vehicles assembled in Nepal, it's reasonable to anticipate a reduction in prices compared to vehicles imported from the international market.
Laxmi Motor Corporation (LMC), a part of the Laxmi Group and the parent entity of Laxmi Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Nepal, has achieved a notable milestone by opening the Hyundai Motor Assembly Plant in Ramgram, Parasi. Distinguished attendees at the event included Prime Minister Mr. Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Lumbini Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Jokh Bahadur Mahara, South Korean Ambassador Park Tae Young, Hyundai Motor India Ltd.'s Managing Director Mr. Unsoo Kim, and various local dignitaries.
The expansive LMC Hyundai Motor Assembly Plant spans 65,000 square meters with a significant built-up area of 14,000 square meters, marking a major investment in Nepal's automotive sector. With an impressive annual capacity of 5,000 units per shift, it is set to revolutionize Hyundai vehicle production nationwide while upholding Hyundai Motor Company's (HMC) rigorous standards. This move not only underscores Hyundai's commitment to the Nepalese market but also represents a significant shift towards localized production.
LMC established the factory with technical guidance from HMC, guaranteeing that every vehicle produced maintains top-notch performance, safety, and reliability standards. LMC's dedication to excellence shines through its utilization of imported Completely Knocked Down (CKD) parts, assembled with precision in their advanced facility. Every bolt and every component is meticulously crafted to deliver unmatched performance, durability, and comfort, tailored to the unique demands of Nepali roads and climates.
Following the inauguration ceremony, attendees were treated to a tour of the plant, marking a momentous occasion in Nepal's automotive sector. The highlight of the event was the historic debut of the inaugural 'Made-in-Nepal Hyundai Venue'. This marked the commencement of production activities for Hyundai Venue by LMC, with a particular focus on the compact SUV segment, a segment known for its success. Additionally, the plant is poised to assemble a range of other Hyundai vehicle models soon.
With a firm commitment to quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction, Hyundai is poised to lead the charge towards a brighter future, one where driving enthusiasts across Nepal can embark on unforgettable journeys with confidence and style. Right now, Laxmi Intercontinental is well-known for its Hyundai cars, with 16 showrooms and 19 service centers spread across Nepal, along with over 45 charging points. To ensure customers are happy, Laxmi Intercontinental, along with its sister company LMC, is gearing up to expand its presence in smaller towns and rural areas soon.
