Honda has officially launched the PCX 160 maxi-scooter to replace the popular PCX150. Honda has contemplated the idea of bringing the PCX family of scooters to Nepal. Currently available scooters that are similar to PCX in Nepal are Vespa LX 125, Vespa ZX 125, Vespa Urban Club, and Hero Electric AE-29 which is launching in April 2021 in Nepal. The designs were even trademarked in Nepal before but we have seen no concrete signs of the scooter’s arrival as of yet. Hopefully, the new PCX 160 gives Honda enough impetus to bring the maxi-scooter to Nepal.

The PCX160 is loaded with some unique features like enhanced Smart Power, smart navigation, and a theft-proof system. The scooter is powered by a single-cylinder 4-valve motor with a larger 156cc motor engine. The new output figures are rated at 16.31PS and 15Nm, 1.41PS, and 1.8Nm more than the outgoing engine. The new PCX160 also gets an updated exhaust system, redesign air intake, a hydraulic cam tensioner, a new crankshaft as well as an ACG starter. Braking power comes from a 220mm hydraulic disc with single-channel ABS to help the rider out.

The PCX160 comes with a sleek and sporting elegant design. The overall body proportions of the scooter are pretty big as well. It comes with modern features such as a fully digital instrument cluster, keyless ignition, USB type-C port integrated into the cubby hole, and LED lighting all around. The underseat storage capacity of scooter is 30 litres while the fuel tank can hold up to 8 litres.  The new Honda PCX also gets a new set of wheels- 14-inch upfront and a 13 incher at the back with 110/70 and 130/70 section tyres respectively.

Honda will start selling the scooter in Japan for now. Now, there is no word about the Honda PCX160’s Nepal launch although the company has stated the launching of the scooter in Nepal is possible. We are sure Honda will get this scooter in Nepal which is expected to happen in the next few years. If launched, the PCX160 will serve as a worthy competitor to the Aprilia SXR160.
