Introducing the Future: Deepal S07 Electric SUV Launched in Nepal

Changan Auto has officially launched its first electric SUV, the Deepal S7 EV in Nepal. MAW Vriddhi AutoCorp, the official distributor of Changan cars in Nepal, has unveiled its debut electric vehicle (EV) for the Nepalese market. Deepal, a subsidiary of Changan Auto, expands its offerings in Nepal with the introduction of the Deepal S7 Electric SUV, marking its debut in the electric vehicle segment. Prior to this, Changan Auto in Nepal has been known for its lineup consisting of the Changan Alsvin sedan and the Changan Hunter SUV. 


The Deepal S07 packs a punch when it comes to performance. It is powered by a 99kW permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates a max power of 134 PS and a max torque of 320 Nm. It is equipped with a 66.8kWh ternary lithium battery. It offers an impressive WLTP range of 410 kilometres on a single charge. When using a 7kW AC charger, it can fully recharge in approximately 9-10 hours, while with a 3 kW AC charger, it takes approximately 22 hours to achieve a full charge. It can quickly recharge from 30% to 80% using a fast charger in just 35 minutes.


No modern vehicle would be complete without a suite of tech-savvy features, and the Deepal S07 is no exception. It comes equipped with an all-LED lighting system and the rear section comes with a star flame through-type taillight with an Illuminated logo and a fluorescent breathing light. It is also equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels, a 1.9-sq meter starry panoramic sunroof, electric hidden door handles, power tailgate, front/rear boneless wipers, perforated synthetic leather seats, ventilated driver and front passenger cushion and backrest, rear touchscreen a/c control panel and among many others.


The Deepal S07 Electric SUV comes equipped with a sizable 15.6-inch Infotainment Display, featuring a convenient 15-degree tilt for optimal viewing angles. Additionally, it boasts a 12.3-inch co-pilot super-sense smart screen to enhance the overall driving experience. In addition to its impressive features, it also offers Wireless Apple Carplay, a premium 14-speaker Sony sound system, a built-in dashcam, an In-car monitor, hand gesture recognition, and various intelligent scenario modes within the cabin. The suspension system is equipped with both MacPherson and H-Arm Multi-Link Independent setups.


The Deepal S7 electric SUV is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features. The safety unit includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, traction control, rollover mitigation, hill start assist (HSA), hill descent control (HDC) and antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). It also includes blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Both the front and rear tyres are equipped with disc brakes. With its blend of safety, this electric SUV is redefining what it means to drive in the 21st century.


In terms of its dimensions, the Deepal S7 features a length of 4750mm, a width of 1930mm, and a height of 1625mm. Additionally, it comes with a spacious wheelbase measuring 2900mm. The vehicle offers a comfortable ground clearance of approximately 175mm. With a kerb weight of 2035kg, it strikes a balance between sturdiness and efficiency. In terms of storage, it provides a generous 125-litre storage space in the front and an even more impressive 445-litre storage capacity at the rear.


The Deepal S7 price in Nepal is NRs. 71.99 Lakhs and it is available only in a single variant. It comes with six different exterior colours, including Comet White, Nebula Green, Lunar Grey, Eclipse Black, Sunset Orange, and Cosmic Yellow. Additionally, it comes in two interior colour options: Orange and Black. It also gets four driving modes - Eco, Comfort, Sport and Customize. This electric vehicle will compete with BYD Atto 3 in Nepal. 


Deepal Nepal provides an 8-year warranty or coverage for up to 150,000 kilometres on the Battery and Motor, a 3-year warranty or coverage for up to 120,000 kilometres for the entire Vehicle, and a 1-year warranty on the Charger.
