Changan Auto is all set to launch its first electric vehicle, the Deepal S7 EV in Nepal. MAW Vriddhi AutoCorp, the authorised distributor of Changan vehicles in Nepal, is gearing up to unveil its debut electric vehicle (EV) Deepal S7 in Nepal by mid-2024 or earlier. Changan Nepal currently offers Alsvin and Hunter models, which are regular gas-powered cars. But things are about to get different as Changan Nepal is getting ready to expand its options by adding the electric vehicle Deepal S7 to its collection.


In global markets, the Deepal S7 comes in two versions: the 520Max and the 620Max. However, it's unclear which of these models, or possibly both, will be launched in Nepal. The exact choice of variant for the Nepali market is yet to be confirmed. The Deepal S7 EV packs a punch when it comes to performance. Powered by advanced electric drivetrain technology, it delivers impressive acceleration and smooth handling, ensuring an exhilarating driving experience.


The Deepal S7 is available in two unique variations: the 520Max and the 620Max. The 520Max is powered by a 190kW force super-collector electric drive that generates a max power of 258PS and a max torque of 320Nm. It is equipped with a 66.8kWh ternary lithium battery. With advancements in battery technology, the S7 promises an impressive range on a single charge. Furthermore, it boasts an estimated range of 520 kilometres on a single charge, and it can recharge from 30%-80% via a fast charger in just 35 minutes.


Similarly, the 620Max is powered by a 160kW force supercollector electric drive that generates a max power of 218PS and a max torque of 320Nm. It is equipped with a 79.97 kWh battery made of Ternary Lithium. Furthermore, it boasts an estimated range of 620 kilometres on a single charge, and it can recharge from 30%-80% via a fast charger in just 35 minutes. Both versions boast an impressive top speed of 180 kilometres per hour. 


The Changan Deepal S7 EV represents a leap forward in electric vehicle technology, blending cutting-edge features. It comes equipped with an LED system which includes Intelligent Interactive LED DRLs, the rear section comes with a star flame through-type taillight with an Illuminated logo and and a fluorescent breathing light. The suspension system is equipped with both MacPherson and H-Arm Multi-Link Independent setups.


Additional features encompass 21-inch wheels, an expansive 1.9-square meter panoramic sunroof adorned with a starry motif, a customizable ambience created by 64-color mood lighting, discreetly integrated air vents, ergonomically designed zero-gravity seats, and an array of other impressive amenities. It also gets a 15.6-inch Infotainment Display (with a 15-degree Tilt) and 12.3-inch co-pilot super sense smart screen.  


The Deepal S7 electric SUV is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features. The safety unit includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, traction control, rollover mitigation, hill start assist (HSA), hill descent control (HDC) and antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). It also includes blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Both the front and rear tyres are equipped with disc brakes.


In terms of its dimensions, the Deepal S7 features a length of 4750mm, a width of 1930mm, and a height of 1625mm. Additionally, it comes with a spacious wheelbase measuring 2900mm. The vehicle offers a comfortable ground clearance of approximately 200mm. With a kerb weight of 2035kg, it strikes a balance between sturdiness and efficiency. In terms of storage, it provides a generous 125-litre storage space in the front and an even more impressive 445-litre storage capacity at the rear.


The price of the Deepal S7 in Nepal is expected to fall between NRs. 70 Lakhs and NRs. 80 Lakhs. The Deepal S7 will come in six different exterior colors, including Comet White, Nebula Green, Lunar Grey, Eclipse Black, Sunset Orange, and Cosmic Yellow. Additionally, it will offer two interior color options: Orange and Black. Although the arrival of the Deepal S7 in Nepal has been confirmed, precise information regarding its pricing and the exact launch date has not been determined yet.
