The BYD e6 Electric SUV has been officially launched in Nepal, marking a significant milestone in the country's automotive landscape. Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of BYD electric vehicles (EVs) in Nepal, has announced the availability of the versatile new e6 model throughout the country. The previous iteration of the e6 showcased impressive capabilities, boasting a remarkable 400-kilometer range on a single charge. However, the latest generation of the e6 takes things to a whole new level, featuring a completely revamped design, enhanced functionalities, and cutting-edge features.

BYD e6 is powered by a 70kW AC permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that can generate a max power of 95PS and a max torque of 180Nm. It is equipped with an upgraded 71.7kWh blade battery utilizing LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) technology. It boasts an extended range of 520 kilometres on a single charge that is compatible with a standard 7kW charger, capable of fully charging the vehicle in 12 hours. It also comes with added support for fast charging, accommodating 40kW and 60kW DC chargers. This means it can be fully charged in just 1.5 to 2 hours.

The first thing that catches the eye about the BYD e6 is its sleek and contemporary design with modern features. It comes with upgraded features including new LED projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a sleek aerodynamic grille with chrome accents, chrome detailing along the windows, a stylish floating roof design, and LED rear lights. It is also equipped with a 10.1-inch infotainment system (with USB and Bluetooth), 6-way adjustable driver and front passenger seat, leather seats, automatic AC, improved 175mm ground clearance, smart key along curved and sculpted lines on the hood.

In terms of safety features, the BYD e6 is equipped with a range of advanced systems including multiple airbags, regenerative braking complemented by an electronic parking brake (EPB), a brake override system (BOS), traction control system (TCS), vehicle dynamic control system (VDC), hill assist control (HAC), an anti-theft system, ABS with all disc brakes, and numerous additional safety enhancements. The suspension duties are handled by McPherson and Multi-Link. Unlike its predecessor, the older e6, the latest model has a smaller motor capacity. However, it compensates by incorporating a lower-power motor paired with a high-density battery, significantly enhancing battery safety.

In terms of its dimensions, the BYD e6 boasts a length of 4695mm, a width of 1810mm, and a height of 1670mm, with a wheelbase measuring 2800mm. Offering a ground clearance of 175mm, it weighs 1930 kg and provides a spacious 580-litre trunk. The front tyre dimensions are 215/55 R17 with a disc brake setup, while the rear tyres also measure 215/55 R17 and feature disc brakes. Additionally, it is equipped with sporty bumpers that contribute to a muscular aesthetic. Its compact yet spacious interior offers comfort and versatility, making it perfect for both urban commutes and weekend getaways.

The BYD e6 price in Nepal is NRs. 59.00 Lakhs. It is only available in a single variant. It comes in four different colour options including Black, White, Blue-Black, and Green-White. BYD e6 competes against the likes of Hyundai Kona Electric, MG ZS EV, and Tata Nexon EV in the Nepalese market. Furthermore, Cimex Nepal provides an extended 8-year warranty for the battery of the e6. Those interested can contact their nearest BYD showroom for further details and information.
