BS6 Ford EcoSport SUV Launched; Nepal Launch Possible

The BS6 Ford EcoSport SUV has been recently launched by the brand with the petrol base variant and the diesel engine variants. It is the first-ever car from the brand that has been updated according to the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The BS6 Ford EcoSport SUV will now compete in the market with the likes of Tata Nexon facelift, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

The BS6 Ford EcoSport is available to the customers with two engine options. The 1.5-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine is capable of offering maximum power of 122hp and a peak torque of 149Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox while the customers can also avail the compact SUV with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission as well. The BS6 model of the EcoSport can also be availed with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that is good for 100hp of maximum power and 215Nm of utmost torque. The engine will only come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The brand has officially discontinued the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine while both the diesel and petrol engine options will be further available in six and seven trims respectively. In addition to this, the updated SUV will be now available to customers with a three-year/1,00,000km warranty.

The higher-spec variant of the updated SUV is equipped with 6 airbags as standard while at the same time features 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment mated to the Ford SYNC 3 system that is further compatible with Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto. In addition to this, the higher-spec trims will also feature a 9.0-inch multimedia system as well as automatic wipers, HID headlights, push-button ignition and more. The  BS6 Ford EcoSport is only available for sale in the Indian market while the brand has not revealed any plans to launch the BS6 Ford EcoSport  in the Nepalese market anytime soon.
