Yamaha Motors is all set to launch the new adventure motorbike FZ-X in Nepal. FZ-X is a neo-retro commuter motorcycle based on the 149 cc Yamaha FZ series however its few styling are borrowed from the international XSR series. MAW Enterprises, the authorized distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal is set to introduce FZX in the Nepalese market in coming days. According to the latest report, Yamaha FZ-X may make it to the Nepalese market within April-May 2022.
The FZ-X shares its 149cc single-cylinder engine with its FZ siblings. It is equipped with an air-cooled 4-stroke 149cc SOHC, 2-valve, single-cylinder fuel-injected “BLUE CORE” engine. So it is likely to have the same specifications, with maximum power output of 12.4 bhp at 7,250 rpm and 13.3 Nm of peak torque at 5,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle comes with disc brakes at both ends including single-channel ABS as standard.
The Yamaha FZ-X gets new features like the Bluetooth-enabled Yamaha Connect app with smartphone connectivity that offers incoming call alerts, SMS alerts, parking location, battery charge indicator, fuel consumption as well as service and oil change reminders. FZ-X also offers an upright riding position with a standard engine bash plate, LED headlight with LED daytime running lights, as well as LED taillight. The bike also gets a side stand engine cut-off switch.
The FZ-X is available in three colour options including Metallic Blue, Matt Copper and Matt Black. It is also is offered in two variants including the standard variant and the top-spec variant. The Yamaha FZ-X price in Nepal is expected to be around NRs. 4,90,000. The FZ-X will compete against the likes of Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, TVS Apache RTR 160, and the Suzuki Gixxer.
