Suzuki Intruder 250 : Expected Launch Jan 2020

After launching the Gixxer SF 250, we expect Suzuki Motorcycle to launch their first 250cc cruiser in the Nepalese market. The Intruder 250 cruiser will be the elder sibling of the Intruder 150 which gets its engine from the Gixxer 150. The cruiser is expected to take its design inspiration from the existing Intruder but with a new engine from the newly launched Gixxer SF 250. The new Intruder 250 should share the same features as that of the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 in terms of the engine, suspension, but the chassis could be carried over from the existing Intruder 150.

The cruiser motorcycle will have an easy ergonomics, low seat height, easy to reach handlebars, front-seat footpegs and laid-back riding posture for the cruiser-like relaxed riding position. The motorcycle should offer the new blue backlit digital instrument cluster which we have seen on the Gixxer SF 250. The instrument cluster would have a horizontal tachometer, speedometer in the middle, a fuel gauge, clock, a gear position indicator, and twin trip meters. The Suzuki Intruder 250 will borrow most of the design elements from the existing Suzuki Gixxer 150 like the extensions in the fuel tank, the triangular headlamp design, and the stylish twin-port exhaust.

We expect the motorcycle to not be as sharp in handling as its fully faired sibling. Having said that, the bike will be made for cruising and for city use. Once launched the Intruder 250 will be competing with the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350 and the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise. We expect the Suzuki Intruder 250 mileage to be around 35kmpl to 40kmpl.

Suzuki Intruder 250 specification can include the same engine which is doing duty on Gixxer SF 250. The engine should be a single-cylinder, oil-cooled, 249-cc engine that produces a max power of 26.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.6 Nm at 7,500 rpm in Gixxer SF 250. However, the tuning of the engine may be for more relaxed cruising. The engine should be mated to a 6-speed transmission and should come with fuel injection. The engine should be using Suzuki Oil-Cooling System (SOCS). Braking duties on the motorcycle can be done by discs in the front and the rear. The bike should come with dual channel ABS as standard.
