Royal Enfield's journey started in 1901and today, Royal Enfield is celebrating the brand’s 120th anniversary. Royal Enfield has launched the 650 twins limited edition Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 with several interesting and exquisite details as part of the celebrations for its 120th anniversary. These bikes will be sold in limited numbers and feature multiple cosmetic differences according to the company. The bikes are available in just 480 units, distributed in 120 units each for Europe, America, and South Asia.
While there are no mechanical differences, the bikes feature a black chrome tank, blacked-out engine, and other components in an array of black color schemes including the silencer that represents the brand’s 120-year journey. The bike also gets many other features like windscreens, engine guards, heel guards, touring and bar end mirrors finished in black color. The powertrain and the exhausts also get a matte black finish, whereas the black spoke wheels get arc-shaped gold rim stickers.
As mentioned earlier, there are no mechanical differences which mean both bikes will be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine that generates 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper and assist clutch. Suspension duties are handled by conventional front forks and twin gas-charged rear shock absorbers. The twins also get a plush brown-colored seat cover with premium stitching which goes well with the matching brown handlebar grips.
Royal Enfield hasn’t revealed the prices for the bikes yet. We are not sure whether the bike will be available or not in the Nepalese market but the twins will go on sale online on December 6, 2021. Registrations for sale have already begun on the company’s website. According to the company, Interested customers can buy the motorcycles through an online sale on December 6, 2021, and can register their interest on the brand’s official website starting from November 24. The company has also said that the details for the sale process will be shared directly on the registered email addresses.
