Japanese carmaker Honda is all set to launch the new generation 5-seat SUV in Nepal. According to the latest report, Honda is planning to expand its Nepalese product portfolio with two new models including Honda City Hybrid and a mid-size SUV. The new Honda SUV could be launched in Nepal by the end of 2022 followed by the Honda City Hybrid. Honda’s upcoming mid-size SUV will be positioned against the cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.
Honda’s new 5-seat SUV is likely to be powered by the 1.5-liter petrol motor, 4-cylinder, i-VTEC engine that is capable of generating 121 hp of max power and 145 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options could include a 5-speed manual and CVT automatic. Honda City Hybrid is likely to be powered by 1.5-liter petrol mild-hybrid powertrain based on Honda’s e: HEV platform which could be equipped with this same powertrain as a new SUV. Honda's new SUV could be around 4.2 meters in length and share its platform with the City sedan.
Honda City Hybrid and a mid-size SUV are set to come with a host of features including angular wraparound headlamps, a new front grille and bumper with a wide air dam, fog lamps with vertical slats, tapering roofline, black plastic cladding, matte black alloy wheels, a contrast roof, slim horizontally positioned LED taillamps and angular tailgate. Honda is also likely to feature a 10.2-inch digital dial display along with a nine-inch touchscreen and 12-speaker Bose sound system for top-spec models.
Honda has confirmed that it is working to launch a new SUV in Nepal. However, not many details are available currently.
