Maruti Suzuki has announced the opening of bookings for the new-generation Celerio in Nepal ahead of its launch and one can book it online on the company’s official website or at their nearest showroom. The new-gen Celerio is developed under the Heartect modular platform which comes with a fresh new design, brand new interiors, and even gets a new engine. The Celerio was first introduced back in 2014 and has received several upgrades throughout the year. The upcoming Maruti Celerio is claimed to be one of Nepal's most fuel-efficient petrol cars.
As we mentioned earlier, the new Celerio will be underpinned by Maruti’s modular Heartect platform which also underpins the WagonR. The new car now will be longer, wider, taller, and will also have a longer wheelbase than its previous model. The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio is equipped with an all-new front and rear bumpers, new sweptback headlamps, front bumper with a large black insert, fog lights, blacked-out B-pillars, new 15-inch black alloy wheels, a driver-side door-mounted request sensor, ORVMs with turn indicators, a rear wiper and washer, as well as new taillights.
The car also gets a manual air-con system, USB and AUX-IN, a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with smartphone navigation, engine push start button with smart key, keyless entry, Pollen type AC filter, 60:40 split rear seats, and height-adjustable driver's seat. The new Celerio also receives safety features such as dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, a speed alert system, seat-belt reminder, hill start assist, and a rear defogger. The new-gen Maruti Suzuki Celerio also comes with a 3D organic sculpted design.
Under the modular Heartect platform new Maruti Suzuki Celerio will be powered by a 1.0-liter, K10C petrol engine that produces 66bhp and 89Nm of torque. This motor is paired to a five-speed manual unit or an AGS (AMT) unit. Celerio is available in a total of 7 variants. According to Maruti Suzuki, the new Celerio has the highest fuel efficiency figure of 26.68kpl in its class (VXi AMT variant). The ZXi and ZXi+ AMT deliver 26kpl, LXi gives 25.24kpl, and the VXi, ZXi, and ZXI+ MT give 24.97kpl. These figures have been verified by ARAI.
The new Celerio will be available in six colors – Solid Fire Red, Speedy Blue, Arctic White, Silky Silver, Glistening Grey, and Caffeine Brown. The new Celerio is priced starting from Rs 27.99 lakhs in the Nepalese market. The new Maruti Suzuki Celerio rivals the likes of the Hyundai Santro, Tata Tiago, and Datsun Go in Nepal.
