Royal Enfield has officially unleashed its latest marvel - the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. Alpha Automotive Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of Royal Enfield motorcycles in Nepal, is gearing up to introduce the latest addition to their lineup, the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650. The launch in Nepal is imminent, but the specific date is still under wraps and yet to be disclosed. The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 is the latest addition to the 650cc family of bikes, and it takes a lot of inspiration from the Super Meteor model. It is available in three variants - Custom Shed, Custom Pro, and Custom Special.
The Shotgun uses the Super Meteor platform as its base, but it has notable differences. It is powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine that generates a maximum power of 46.6 bhp at 7250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of torque at 5650 rpm. The motor comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends equipped with a dual-channel ABS. This new motorcycle is suspended by a Showa upside-down fork up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Nearly everything on this bike is crafted from metal, making it quite heavy at 240 kilograms when fully equipped.
Royal Enfield has always been a brand that effortlessly blends classic design with modern engineering, and the Shotgun 650 is no exception. It is placed just below the Super Meteor 650 in the lineup but features a cool bobber look with a broad, flat handlebar, a sleek black engine and exhaust, short fenders, footpegs placed in the middle, and a stance that makes riding exciting. It also gets an aluminium cowl over the headlamp to give it a more modern streak. It also has a double-cradle chassis, sculpted fuel tank, digital-analogue instrument cluster and LED tail lamp.
The Shotgun 650 joins the 650 Twins family, following the Super Meteor 650, Continental GT 650, and Interceptor 650 Twin. When it hits Nepal, it will be the initial bike from the 650 Twins series to debut in the country. Featuring a fuel tank capacity of 13.8 litres, the Shotgun offers an impressive mileage of approximately 22 kilometres per litre. The inclusion of modern conveniences, such as USB charging ports and Bluetooth connectivity, further enhances the overall riding experience. Users also have the option to either attach the back seat or ride the bike with only the single rider seat and a rear rack for carrying luggage.
The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 boasts dimensions that underscore its impressive stature, measuring 2170 mm in length, 820 mm in width, and 1105 mm in height while providing a comfortable seat height of 795 mm. The wheelbase spans 1465 mm, ensuring stability, and the motorcycle maintains a ground clearance of 140 mm. It is equipped with a front braking system featuring a 320 mm disc/drum, while the rear braking system boasts a 300 mm disc/drum. The motorcycle features varying wheel dimensions, with an 18-inch front wheel paired with a 17-inch rear wheel configuration.
The price of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 in Nepal will be disclosed when bookings open. Keep an eye out for updates on the launch date and price announcement. Stay tuned for more information. This motorcycle is offered in four colour options to choose from -Stencil White, Plasma Blue, Green Drill, and Sheetmetal Grey.
