Jawa commenced Perak deliveries from August 20, 2020, in the Nepalese market but the company had to rework the timeline due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now there is news coming out from the various source, the Jawa Perak is all set to be launched in the Nepalese market by March 2021. According to sources, Jawa could start exporting its motorcycles to Nepal within this month. The new Jawa Perak keeps the bobber design intact with the low-slung and floating single seat. However, the pillion seat is optional on the motorcycle.

Jawa Perak is powered by a bigger 334cc, single-cylinder mill, DOHC liquid-cooled motor that produces 30.64PS and 32.74Nm of torque. The engine uses the same 293 cc mill from the Jawa and the Jawa Forty Two. The motor is paired with a 6-speed gearbox transmission with an optimized gear ratio and is BS6 compliant. Braking duties come from twin disc brakes with dual-channel ABS as standard. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock unit at the rear.

The Perak features a blacked-out paint job that looks menacing, a redesigned rear end, low-set handlebars with bar-end mirrors, and a round LED taillight that’s neatly placed under the seat. The instrument console features a minimalistic design with just the speedometer, odometer, and fuel gauge.  It also gets a longer swingarm than other Jawa motorcycles. The Perak also uses a different subframe and suspension setup at the rear The design is equipped with gold pinstriping on the fuel tank, side panels, and fenders.

The Perak was launched back in November 2019. The bike is still yet to make it to the Nepalese market. The Perak is certainly a unique motorcycle for our Nepalese market and, as with its buyers, we await the opportunity to get our hands on it to see what it’s like. The Jawa Perak will be priced between NRs 7 to 8 lakhs which will be more expensive than the top-end standard Jawa. Once launched in Nepal, the bike will go up against the Benelli Imperiale 400, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, and the Honda H'ness CB350.
