The electric vehicle (EV) revolution in Nepal is about to get even more exciting with the BYD Sea Lion 07 Electric SUV making its grand appearance. BYD is preparing to launch its new midsize electric SUV, the Sea Lion 07, in Nepal. Showcased recently at the NADA Auto Show 2024, the Sea Lion 07 has generated significant buzz, and it’s poised to launch soon in the Nepalese market. This new electric vehicle is equipped with cutting-edge features, a sleek design, and eco-friendly performance.

The BYD Sea Lion 07 comes equipped with a powerful all-electric drivetrain. It offers three powertrain options: a 230 kW or 170 kW motor for two-wheel-drive models, and a dual-motor setup with 160 kW and 230 kW for the four-wheel-drive version. The single-motor variants provide ranges of 550 km or 610 km, while the dual-motor model offers 550 km. It delivers up to 690 Nm of torque and comes with 71.8 kWh or 80.64 kWh battery options. It's still uncertain which variant will be available in Nepal.

The Sea Lion 07 features modern, aerodynamic features that offer style and efficiency. In terms of features, it includes a striking front grille, sleek LED headlamps, a four-spoke steering wheel, a crystal gear selector, physical controls for key functions, a 50-inch AR-HUD, and sculpted body lines. The 15.6-inch infotainment system is packed with features, including navigation, entertainment, and connectivity options like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keeping you connected while on the go.

BYD has equipped the Sea Lion 07 with a comprehensive suite of safety features. For safety, it is equipped with 11 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera, and driver monitoring assistance. The Sea Lion 07 also introduces BYD's DiPilot 100 "God's Eye" ADAS, which features 12 ultrasonic radars, 5 mm-wave radars, and 11 cameras, delivering advanced L2 driver assistance. This system includes lane-keeping assistance, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alerts, traffic sign recognition, and intelligent speed control.

The dimensions of the BYD Sea Lion 07 Electric SUV are 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase measuring 2,930 mm. It features a ground clearance of 173 mm and a kerb weight of approximately 1,940 kg. Additionally, the SUV provides a 58-litre front trunk (frunk) and a spacious 500-litre boot. The single-motor variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, while the dual-motor version achieves this in just 4.5 seconds.

The BYD Sea Lion 07 Electric SUV price in Nepal has not been announced yet and will be disclosed at the time of its launch.
