Changan Nepal currently provides Alsvin and Hunter models, which are conventional internal combustion engine vehicles. However, this is about to change as Changan Nepal is set to diversify its offerings by introducing the electric vehicle Deepal SL03 into its lineup.
Changan Auto has just introduced its latest electric SUV, the Deepal S07, in Nepal. Now, the upcoming electric vehicle to make its debut in Nepal by 2024 will be the Deepal SL03. While the Deepal S07 is already accessible at Changan Auto showrooms in Nepal, the Deepal SL03 will come in two variants. However, it remains uncertain which variant, or possibly both, will be launched in Nepal.
Deepal SL03 is powered by a 190kW permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates a max power of 258 PS and a max torque of 320 Nm. It is equipped with a 58.1kWh ternary lithium battery. With advancements in battery technology, the SL03 promises an impressive range on a single charge. Furthermore, it boasts an estimated range of 515 kilometres on a single charge, and it can recharge from 30%-80% via a fast charger in just 25 minutes.
Similarly, Deepal SL03 is also available in its extended range option. It is powered by a 160kW permanent magnet synchronous motor that generates a max power of 218 PS and a max torque of 320 Nm. It is equipped with a 79.97 kWh battery made of Ternary Lithium. Furthermore, it boasts an estimated range of 705 kilometres on a single charge, and it can recharge from 30%-80% via a fast charger in just 25 minutes. Both variants support 150kW DC fast charging and boast an impressive top speed of 180 kilometres per hour.
Deepal SL03 is also packed with advanced features and technology. It comes equipped with a projector headlamp setup with LED DRLs, a tri-arrow type LED taillight with an Illuminated logo and a fluorescent breathing light. It is also equipped with frameless doors, a 1.3-meter panoramic sunroof, and a vertically rotating infotainment system. It gets a 14.6-inch Infotainment Display (with a 15-degree Tilt) and a 10.2-inch co-pilot super sense smart screen. It also features contrasting interior colors with a 3D Intelligent cockpit.
The Deepal SL03 electric sedan is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced safety features. The safety unit includes six airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre pressure monitoring, electronic stability control, traction control, rollover mitigation, hill start assist (HSA), hill descent control (HDC) and antilock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD). It also includes blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which can help drivers avoid collisions when changing lanes or backing up. It also gets 14 Sony speakers.
In terms of its dimensions, the Deepal SL03 features a length of 4820mm, a width of 1890mm, and a height of 1480mm. Additionally, it comes with a spacious wheelbase measuring 2900mm. The vehicle offers a comfortable ground clearance of approximately 170mm. With a kerb weight of 1825kg, it strikes a balance between sturdiness and efficiency. In terms of storage, it provides a generous 279-litre storage space, which is expandable up to 950 litres. The suspension duties are handled by MacPherson Independent and Multi-Link Independent.
The price of the Deepal SL03 in Nepal is expected to fall between NRs. 50 Lakhs and NRs. 60 Lakhs. Depending on the variant, the price can go up or down. While the arrival of the Deepal SL03 in Nepal has been officially confirmed, specific details regarding its pricing and the exact launch date have not been finalized as of yet. It is available in a vibrant array of colours, including Blue, Mint, Grey, White, and Black. The Deepal SL03 is set to represent a significant step forward for electric vehicles in Nepal.
