BMW has officially launched the BS6-compliant R nineT and the R nineT Scrambler across the certain Asian market including Thailand and India. There is no news regarding the launch of BMW R nineT and R nineT Scrambler in the Nepalese market for now but we expect the bike to be launched here by mid-2021. Both the motorcycles come with BS6-compliant 1,170cc boxer-twin engine, along with several cosmetic updates compared to the old model. With the launch, the company looks to increase its base in the country’s motorcycle market.

The biggest update in the new R nineT is the BS6-compliant engine. Both the bikes are powered by the same 1,170cc air/oil-cooled boxer-twin engine and also it now gets a new cylinder head for cleaner and more efficient combustion. The result of meeting new emission norms is, with the engine producing 109hp at 7,250rpm and 116Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. Power transmission duties are carried out by a six-speed gearbox. The new internals engine also gets new cylinder head covers that look aesthetically attractive.

Talking about features and equipment, both bike comes with standard LED headlamps, a new semi-digital instrument cluster, and two riding modes Rain and Road with an analogue speedometer display and integrated indicator lights. Both the bikes also get USB charging ports. Braking functions are performed by both discs and ABS Pro with Dynamic Brake Control is standard. The R nineT comes fitted with 17-inch spoke wheels at both ends while the Scrambler version gets cast alloy wheels with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tyres.

Internationally, the R nineT is available in two more variants – Pure and Urban G/S but once launched in Nepal both bikes will be available only in one variant. Both the motorcycles will be brought into the country through India. Both bikes are exclusively available at all the authorized dealers of BMW in India for now and the price marked for it INR 23.44 Lakh meaning we have to pay more than 40 lakhs once launched in Nepal. The German manufacturer company has furnished both bikes very well and it is constructed on a roadster platform.
