A brand-new addition to Triumph’s Street family is the all-new Triumph Street Cup., carrying a little genetics of the Street Twin with street racer attitude, and very well carrying the minimal and classic bodywork. The engine, suspension and brakes have been directly picked up from the Street Twin. This is the kind of bike you want to take down on your favorite road, which you always dream of. The bike has been specially designed to deliver attitude and presence of a club racer.
The Street Cup carries the same engine as the Street Twin; it’s also said that the Street Cup is a Street Twin in Café racer disguise. The 900 cc engine liquid-cooled parallel twin motor pops 55 bhp of maximum power with 80 Nm of torque, and this torque is felt between 2750 and 4750 rpm. With a broad spread of power, it certainly is more refined and smooth. The gear is also the same as the Street Twin, that is, 5-speed transmission mated to wet, multi-plate assist clutch.
Since Triumph has jacked up the rear suspension, which has resulted in an increase in the seat height by 20 mm, this gives a sportier riding position and makes it a more agile bike. The brakes are pretty amazing with the front 310 mm single disc with a 255 mm rear, both having an ABS channel. Also, going around corners is easier when compared to the Street Twin. The slipper clutch just adds to the smooth riding experience of the bike and the top speed numbers are expected to touch the 180 kmph mark.
The Street Twin gave good news for the customers, which was a mileage of 27.2 kmpl, and the Street is expected to do the same with fuel tank capacity to be around 12 L. Features include things like ABS, Fork Protectors, Switchable traction control, Ride by Wire, Torque-Assist Clutch, Immobilizer, LED rear light, USB Power Socket and Trip Computer. Obviously, you get an amazing colour scheme of Racing Yellow and Silver Ice with hand-painted coach lines. The expected price is between Rs.10 to 15 Lakh.
