Toyota previewed the Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 publicly at the 2018 Guangzhou International Auto Show in China held in November. The longstanding executive sedan garners massive popularity not just in the native market but across prominent auto industries including Nepal. It will first be launched in China in 2019 followed by other markets. As for the Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 price in Nepal, it is likely to fall in the range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 60 lakh.

The Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 specification is likely to include a 1.2-litre petrol engine, a 1.8-litre hybrid set-up, and a 2.0-litre hybrid unit. While these specs are for the China-bound model, it is too premature to comment on the India-spec model. The current model, however, comes with a 1.8-litre petrol engine and a 1.4-litre oil burner.

The Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 images emerged during its display at the Guangzhou International Auto Show reveal the new look. At the front, there are sleek headlamps and the lower bumper features multiple air-inlets. The side skirts inject aggression to the front, while the doors at side get indented curves at the bottom. Round the back, there are a new set of tail-lamps with LED units.

The Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 interiors also receive styling changes and feature update. Built on Toyota’s new TNGA platform, the Toyota Corolla Altis 2020is said to be inspired by the ‘Sensuous Minimalism concept’. There is a floating infotainment system inside the cabin which sits at the centre of the sleek dashboard. Besides, the model is likely to get a plethora tech in line with other new models from Toyota.

As mentioned above, there is yet no clarity on the engine and transmission set-up, hence it is too early to comment on the mileage front of the Toyota Corolla Altis 2020. Since the information available on the engine and specs of the Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 is scarce, it would be difficult to suggest anything deeming the performance and handling of the upcoming model.

Competing with the like of Skoda Octavia, the Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 is likely to get a plethora of safety, security and driver assistance tech in tandem with the rivals in the segment. In its segment, the Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 will continue to fight with rivalling models including Skoda Octavia and Hyundai Elantra. It will also lock horns with the upcoming Toyota Corolla Altis.

The Toyota Corolla Altis 2020 will be built on the company’s TNGA platform and will receive significant exterior changes for a better visual appeal. Changes will also be made to the interiors, though it is yet to be seen if the model will get similar changes as the China-spec version.
