Tata Punch EV Launched in Nepal: Unveiling Three Exciting Variants

Tata Motors, renowned for its innovation and commitment to sustainability, has officially launched the Punch EV in Nepal. This new electric vehicle (EV) is set to redefine urban mobility with three exciting variants tailored to diverse driving needs and preferences. It will be offered in medium-range (MR) and long-range (LR) versions, available in three trims: Empowered+ S MR, Empowered LR, and Empowered +S LR. The Punch promises to redefine urban mobility with its innovative features, advanced technology, and eco-friendly performance.


The Medium Range variant features a 25 kWh battery pack, producing 60 kW of power and 114 Nm of torque. In contrast, the Long Range variant comes with a 35 kWh battery pack, offering 90 kW of power and 190 Nm of torque. In terms of range, it provides up to 421 km according to the Modified Indian Driving Cycle (MIDC), with an estimated real-world range between 270 and 290 km. It offers charging options with a 3.3kW wall box charger and a 7.2kW fast charger. It also supports DC fast charging, charging from 10% to 80% in 56 minutes using a 50kW rapid charger. 


The Tata Punch EV features a sleek and contemporary design, characterized by its bold grille, aerodynamic lines, and modern features. It comes with LED projector headlights, LED fog lights, Y-shaped LED tail lights, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree surround-view camera, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman. This electric SUV is Tata's first EV with a front-facing charging port, neatly placed under the LED DRLs, which also serve as charging indicators.


Tata Motors has prioritized safety with the Punch EV, incorporating features such as 6 airbags, an antilock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), 360-degree surround-view camera system, hill descent and hold control, electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability program for enhanced control, secure ISOFIX anchors for child seats and many others. The latest SUV earned a full 5-star rating for adult occupant safety and a 4-star rating for child occupant safety.


The Tata Punch Electric SUV has dimensions of 3857 mm in length, 1742 mm in width, and 1633 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2445 mm. It can traverse water up to 350 mm deep and offers a ground clearance of 190 mm when unloaded. It has a kerb weight ranging from 1240 Kg to 1340 Kg and provides a spacious boot space of 366 Liters. The medium range has 185/70 R15 front tyres with disc brakes and 195/60 R16 rear tyres with drum brakes, while the long-range version features disc brakes on all four wheels.


The Tata Punch EV price in Nepal starts at NRs. 33.99 Lakh. It comes in medium-range (MR) and long-range (LR) variants, with three trims: Empowered+ S MR (NRs. 33,99,000), Empowered LR (NRs. 36,99,000), and Empowered +S LR (NRs. 38,99,000). It comes in a wide range of colour options including Empowered Oxide, Seaweed, Daytona Grey, Fearless Red, and Pristine White, each available in dual-toned variants. The Tata Punch EV offers a compelling option that combines style, technology, and environmental responsibility.
