Suzuki is reportedly working on a new premium scooter for the global market. The upcoming scooter is expected to be known as Suzuki Burgman 180. A recent report by Iwanbanaran claims that the new Burgman’s engine displacement will lie between 175cc to 179cc. The overall design of the scooter is expected to remain identical to the rest of the premium Burgman series scooters.
The engine of the Suzuki Burgman 180 may be derived from the Burgman 200, which is currently retailed in some of the Europen countries. Mechanically, the Burgman 200 is equipped with a 200cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, SOHC, liquid-cooled engine, which is good enough to produce 18 HP of maximum power along 16.8 Nm of peak torque.
The suspension duties of the Burgman 180 are expected to be handled by conventional telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The braking duties of the scooter will be performed by front and rear disc brakes with ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard.
The scooter will come featured with a twin LED headlamp setup, an analogue/digital instrument console, and a tall windscreen like the European-spec Burgman 200. The under-seat storage will also be quite spacious in the Burgman 180, which may be identical to the 41-litre boot space of the Burgman 200.
As of now, there is no confirmation about the introduction of the Burgman 180 in Nepal. In the international markets, the Burgman 180 will directly rival the Honda PCX 150 and the Yamaha NMAX 155. It is being said that Suzuki will officially unveil the Burgman 180 in early 2020. The brand may consider the all-new Burgman for the Nepalese market by the end of the next year.
