In a significant move reflecting Hyundai's commitment to sustainable mobility, the automotive giant has recently announced updated prices for its latest electric vehicle, the Hyundai Kona Electric, in Nepal for the year 2024. Laxmi International Pvt. Ltd., the official distributor of Hyundai cars in Nepal, is still providing a great deal on its well-liked electric SUV.  This update is expected to make electric vehicles more accessible to a wider audience and further accelerate the transition towards clean and eco-friendly transportation in the country. 

The Hyundai Kona in Nepal now comes with a price range of NRs. 59.96 Lakhs to NRs. 64.96 Lakhs. Initially offered in three variants, it is now only available in GL and GLS versions for the Nepali market. Surprisingly, the latest price update for the Hyundai Kona Electric in Nepal brings good news for those interested in the GL variant, as its price has been reduced by NRs. 2 Lakhs. On the other hand, the GLS variant sees a slight price increase, going up by NRs. 40,000. These adjustments in pricing aim to make the GL variant more affordable for buyers while accommodating a modest increase for the GLS variant.

The Hyundai Kona Electric has garnered attention worldwide for its impressive features, cutting-edge technology, and eco-friendly design. It is powered by a 100kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) that generates a max power of 120PS and a max torque of 395Nm. Equipped with a 39.2kWh battery, the Hyundai Kona Electric offers an impressive range of 305 kilometres on a single charge. Furthermore, its charging time is estimated to be between 8 to 10 hours. Both versions come equipped with identical battery and motor setups.

The Hyundai Kona boasts dimensions of 4180mm in length, 180mm in width, and 1555mm in height, with a wheelbase measuring 2600mm. It provides a comfortable 160 mm ground clearance and has a kerb weight ranging from 1685kg to 1743kg. Additionally, the Kona features a generous boot space of 332 litres, extendable to a spacious 1114 litres. The front tire dimensions for the Hyundai Kona are 215/55R17 – Disc, and similarly, the rear tire dimensions are 215/55R17 – Disc. The Kona Electric's electric powertrain and wide dimensions provide an efficient and smooth driving experience, making it suitable for city commuting and long-distance journeys.
