Hyundai Motors has officially launched the electric vehicle Ioniq 5 in Nepal. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the first model under the brand’s Ioniq electric sub-brand. Laxmi Intercontinental, the authorized distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Nepal, reported to us earlier, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 will see its market launch in Nepal sometime time year and it has finally come around. Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available in two variants including Vision Roof and Solar Roof. It also comes in two drivetrain options: rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive.

Ioniq 5 is based on Electric Global Modular Architecture (E-GMP) that uses two different battery packs 58kWh and 72.6kWh. The standard range battery pack provides a range of up to 385km, whereas the long-range provides a range of up to 481km, as per WLTP.  The base variant can generate 168bhp and 350Nm of torque while the top variant can generate 301bhp and 605Nm of torque. The 2 variants of Ioniq 5 can sprint from 0-100kph in 8.5 seconds and 0-100kph in 5.2sec. The Ioniq 5 batteries can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes using a 220kW DC charger.

Hyundai offers a host of features in Ioniq 5 including LED headlamps and rear lights, a Bose sound system, a 360-degree camera setup, dual-zone temperature control, hands-free boot opening, seven airbags, and two 12.25-inch displays. The car also gets digital screens for the rear-view mirror display including a sharp line and hidden LED taillight. The car also features a wireless charging system and innovative safety package that offers blind spot detection, autonomous braking, cruise control, and rear traffic alert. It also features Hyundai’s BlueLink connected-car suite.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 is available in six different colors including Grey, Black, White, Gold, Green, and Blue. Hyundai Ioniq 5 will compete against the likes of Kia EV6 and Tesla Model Y in the Nepalese market.
