NADA Auto Show 2026 is a much bigger proposition than a walk around a few familiar car stalls. NADA says the exhibition includes 53 vehicle brands, more than 200 stalls and separate sections for vehicles, finance, insurance, components, garage equipment and Made in Nepal products.

There is, however, an important reporting distinction. The published opening-day list gives the participating brand entries, but it does not provide a verified model-by-model inventory for every stall. The participant list above follows  opening-day roster, which reports 23 passenger vehicle entries, 17 light commercial vehicle entries and 13 two-wheeler entries. Because Foton appears in both passenger and LCV categories, the figure is best understood as 53 participation entries rather than 53 unique brand names.

The sweet spot is now around Rs 30 lakh to Rs 50 lakh

This is where NADA 2026 gets genuinely interesting. Buyers no longer have to stretch into premium territory to get a useful EV with serious equipment.

The Deepal Nevo Q05 deserves particular attention. The Max variant is priced at Rs 46.99 lakh under the NADA offer, while the Ultra is Rs 49.99 lakh. That combination of power, equipment and pricing makes the Q05 one of the clearest value stories in the entire exhibition.

The BYD Atto 2 is a slightly different proposition. The Essential costs Rs 45.95 lakh and produces 100 kW. Importantly, the correct claimed WLTP range for this variant is 312 km. The 345 km figure belongs to the Premium variant and should not be attached to the Essential in published copy.

For buyers staying below Rs 30 lakh, the Nammi Box E2 330 is hard to ignore. It is much more naturally suited to Kathmandu-style urban use than long-distance touring, but that is not a weakness when the buyer's actual job is city commuting.

Performance buyers have a surprisingly strong shortlist

Forget the giant screens for a moment. Look at the numbers.

The Geely EX5 Pro is the performance recommendation for buyers with a budget around Rs 62 lakh. Its 160 kW motor produces 215 hp and the SUV can reach 100 km/h from rest in 6.9 seconds. Its 60.2 kWh battery is claimed to deliver up to 530 km on the CLTC cycle. That last figure should be treated as a CLTC result, not WLTP.

Then there is the Riddara RD6 ECON 4x4, which takes the performance discussion in a different direction. It is a working electric pickup, with dual motors, 485 Nm of torque, 225 mm of ground clearance and a 1,235 kg payload. For someone who needs a pickup, those specifications matter far more than acceleration figures.

At the opposite extreme sits the MHERO 1. Four motors produce 800 kW and 1,400 Nm, while the large 142.7 kWh battery is claimed to provide up to 450 km WLTP. It can raise its air-suspension ground clearance to roughly 330 to 335 mm and wade through up to 900 mm of water. Spectacular, yes. Immediate buying advice, no. Sales are expected from early 2027.

Petrol has not disappeared, and that matters

The EV push is obvious, but NADA 2026 is not a one-way march toward electrification. Suzuki's new Brezza gives buyers an alternative with a turbocharged petrol engine producing 81 kW and 170 Nm, priced from Rs 48.99 lakh.

That makes the Brezza particularly relevant for motorists who routinely travel beyond the strongest charging corridors or simply do not want to plan their driving around charging. EVs may be dominating the show, but convenience still counts.

The same caution applies to vehicle supply. Recent flooding around the Bhotekoshi area disrupted a major route used for Chinese imports, and reported that around 150  EVs were swept away in the Rasuwa customs area. Importers are working on alternative routes to protect NADA bookings and festive-season deliveries.

The most interesting launches are not necessarily the cars you should buy today

The Tata Sierra.ev is perhaps the best example. It is one of NADA's biggest attractions and Tata is displaying it alongside the updated Punch EV and Tiago EV. Bookings have opened, but Tata has not announced the final Nepal price. That makes the Sierra a car to watch rather than a vehicle to rank definitively on value today.

Two-wheelers have an equally interesting story. The Yatri P2 is the first electric scooter designed, developed and manufactured entirely in Nepal. It uses a 10 kW motor and offers 3 kWh, 3.7 kWh and 5.2 kWh battery options, with claimed ranges of 90 km, 112 km and 157 km respectively. Pre-bookings are open, but there is still no official price.

Yamaha's XSR 155 is another notable launch, while Hero is showcasing the Xoom 160, Glamour X 125 and Xtreme 250. NADA's opening-day report also confirms new Vida electric two-wheelers are being displayed.
