Honda has once again pushed the boundaries of automotive innovation with the launch of the Honda City e-HEV in Nepal. Syakar Trading Company, the authorised distributor of Honda cars in Nepal, has confirmed the launch of its first hybrid sedan Honda City e-HEV.  It is infused with an electric hybrid twist, building upon the foundation of the 5th Generation Honda City. It is offered in both Standard and ZX variants. The latest addition to the Honda City lineup brings forth an electrifying driving experience, blending cutting-edge hybrid technology with trusted performance and style including enhanced hybrid power and mileage technology.

One standout feature of the Honda City e-HEV lies in its seamless transition across various driving modes. The vehicle adeptly shifts between EV Drive, Hybrid Drive, and Engine Drive modes, leveraging its electric motor's capabilities. In the EV Drive mode, the car relies on an electric motor and a battery, ensuring a silent and eco-friendly drive, particularly suitable for urban traffic scenarios. The Hybrid Drive system harmoniously combines the engine's electricity generation with the motor's wheel propulsion, delivering swift acceleration, performance, and concurrent battery charging. Finally, the Engine Drive mode comes into play during high-speed highway cruising, utilizing the engine alone to power the wheels.

At the heart of the Honda City e-HEV lies a powerful yet efficient hybrid powertrain. It is powered by a 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol engine with a hybrid dual-motor that generates a combined max power of 126PS and a max torque of 127 Nm for the engine and 253 Nm for the PMSM Motor. It is equipped with a 172.8V advanced high-voltage lithium-ion battery which charges automatically while driving. It is exclusively offered with an e-CVT transmission featuring an engine-linked clutch and electronic parking brake. It also boasts impressive fuel efficiency, achieving an economical 27.13 kilometres per litre of fuel.

Beyond its impressive hybrid technology, the Honda City e-HEV is a visual delight that combines style with aerodynamic efficiency. It features a Honda solid wing face grill with a full LED headlamp, a 3D wrap with LED tail lamp and uniform edge light, LED side indicators, a trunk lid spoiler, a carbon fibre look diffuser and 16-inch dual-tone diamond cut alloy wheels. It is also equipped with a bit of a blue highlight in the Honda badge - and that's typical of most Japanese manufacturers when it's a hybrid or an electric. The lower portion of the front grille features a fresh design, characterized by a black honeycomb mesh pattern positioned beneath a thick horizontal chrome strip.

Safety is a top priority, and the Honda City e-HEV doesn't disappoint. It comes equipped with 6 airbags, ISOFIX, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, traction control, antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution, tyre pressure monitoring, hill start assist, and advanced driver assistance systems. Honda has brought level 2 ADAS, which is called Honda Sensing in this hybrid. It has a collision mitigation system that also includes automatic emergency braking. The sedan is equipped with all-disc brakes and an electric parking brake. This sedan doesn't rely on extensive charging infrastructure like fully electric vehicles, as it generates electric power through regenerative braking while driving.

In terms of its dimensions, the Honda City Hybrid has a length of 4583 mm, a width of 1748 mm, and a height of 1489 mm. The wheelbase measures 2600 mm, and the ground clearance is set at 165mm. The kerb weight ranges from 1107 to 1280 kg. Equipped with 185/55 R16 tires and an All-Disc Braking system, the vehicle showcases a sleek design. Notably, the boot space has been slightly reduced to 410 litres due to the incorporation of battery storage. The suspension system of the vehicle is managed by the McPherson strut and torsion beam. The Honda City e-HEV achieves a maximum speed ranging from 180 to 190 kilometres per hour.

The Honda City e-HEV price in Nepal starts at NRs. 90.40 Lakhs for the CVT variant and NRs. 97.30 Lakhs for the CVT ZX variant. It is available in a diverse range of six captivating colours, including Blue, Red, White, Brown, Grey, and Silver. With its efficient hybrid technology, sleek design, advanced safety features, and intuitive connectivity, this car is a game-changer in the world of urban driving.
