Hero Electric AE-47 Street Motorcycle Launch Delayed

The Hero Electric AE-47 street bike was officially showcased back at the Auto Expo in February 2020. The bike was expected to launch in the Nepalese market by the end of this year but as per the latest details available, the launch has been postponed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The brand has officially announced that they have no plans to launch the sporty electric motorcycle in Nepal this year.

The all-electric AE-47 is powered by a 4kW electric motor while the company-claimed top speed of the motorcycle stands at 85kmph. It comes with a lightweight portable 48V/3.5kWh battery that can be fully charged in 4 hours. The AE-47 has two ride modes – Eco Mode and Power Mode. The estimated range of the electric bike in Eco Mode is 160km whereas it has a range of 85km in the Power Mode on a single charge. The Hero Electric AE-47 has a claimed acceleration figure of 0-60kmph in 9 seconds.

In terms of features, the bike gets an all-digital instrument console, a mobile charger, walk-assist and reverse feature. The e-bike also supports smartphone integration via a mobile phone app that features GPS, GPRS, real-time tracking and geo-fencing. It employs an inverted front fork, rear monoshock, 290mm front, and 215mm rear disc with combi braking system. Other features include an all-LED lighting system, smartphone connectivity, geo-fencing, real-time tracking, walk assist mode, cruise control and reverse mode.

The AE-47 has a lightweight portable lithium ion 48V/3.5 kWh battery, and can be charged fully in four hours. The AE-47 has two modes - in Power mode, range is claimed to be 85 km on a single charge, while in Eco mode, the estimated range is 160 km on a single charge. The AE-47 has claimed acceleration figures of 0-60 kmph in 9 seconds. It features a digital instrument console, keyless access, mobile charger, walk assist and reverse feature. The electric motorcycle is supported by a mobile app featuring GPS, GPRS, real-time tracking and geofencing.
