BYD, a global leader in electric vehicles (EVs), has officially launched its latest marvel, the BYD Seal Electric Vehicle in Nepal. Cimex Nepal, the authorised distributor of BYD electric vehicles in Nepal, has launched Seal in three different versions including Dynamic (Standard Range), Premium (Extended Range), and Performance (All-Wheel-Drive). Packed with cutting-edge technology, sleek design, and a commitment to sustainability, the Seal is set to redefine the electric vehicle (EV) landscape. This groundbreaking development marks a significant stride in Nepal's commitment to eco-friendly transportation.
The BYD Seal Electric Vehicle comes in three exciting variants, each tailored to meet diverse preferences and needs. The entry-level BYD Seal in Nepal, known as the Dynamic RWD, comes with a 61.4 kWh LFP Blade battery powering a 150 kW electric motor, offering a range of 460 km (WLTP). Stepping up, the Premium RWD features an 82.5 kWh battery, a 230 kW rear motor, and a range of 570 km (WLTP). The top-tier AWD Performance variant boasts the same 82.5 kWh battery, dual motors for all-wheel drive, a combined 390 kW, and a range of up to 520 km (WLTP).
The BYD Seal Electric Vehicle is designed with flexible charging options. It can charge using a regular AC charger (Type 2) with a maximum rate of 7 kW or a faster DC fast charger (CCS 2) with an impressive maximum rate of 110 kW. If you choose the fast charging option, you can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in just half an hour, making it super quick. Plus, it has a cool feature called Vehicle to Load (V2L), which makes its charging capabilities even more adaptable. With fast charging, you can get back on the road in no time, making long trips less stressful.
The BYD Seal boasts impressive features, making it suitable for both urban commuting and longer journeys. Packed with an all LED lighting system, including advanced safety systems, intuitive infotainment features like a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, a 15.6-inch rotatable central control screen and a futuristic design including a W-HUD (head-up display). The vehicle's operating system is based on BYD's DiLink 5.0, complemented by the advanced driving assistance system, DiPilot. The instrument panel integrates with your smartphone, providing real-time data about your vehicle's performance and charging status.
Safety is a top priority for BYD, and the Seal is equipped with an array of advanced safety features. In terms of safety, It comes equipped with an array of advanced safety features, including multiple airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), a Traction Control System (TCS), a 360-degree camera, and a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These ADAS features encompass Adaptive Cruise Control, an Automatic Emergency Braking System, Rear Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, among a host of other safety enhancements.
In terms of dimension, the BYD Seal measures 4800mm long, 1875mm wide, and 1460mm high, with a wheelbase of 2920mm. It maintains a ground clearance of 120mm and a kerb weight of 1922 kg. The front trunk has a capacity of 50 litres, while the rear trunk can hold up to 400 litres. Riding on 18-inch/19-inch wheels, depending on the variant, it utilizes the e-Platform 3.0. The BYD Seal achieves a speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.5 seconds. The BYD Seal comes with 225/50 R18 9 tires for both the front and rear, paired with 7x18 inch wheels measuring 178x457 mm.
The BYD Seal price in Nepal is set at NRs 1.05 crore for the Dynamic variant, NRs 1.39 crore for the Premium variant, and NRs 1.85 crore for the Performance variant. The Seal will be offered in four standard colours: Arctic Blue, Aurora White, Cosmos Black, and Atlantis Gray. The sleek design, powerful performance, and the promise of a growing charging infrastructure make the BYD Seal a formidable player in the Nepalese electric vehicle market.
BYD has grown its footprint in Nepal, setting up 12 showrooms, 9 service centres, and 15 charging points. They're actively working to expand these facilities even more.
