The German multinational manufacturer, BMW has just launched its all-electric iX1 Crossover SUV in Nepal. Laxmi Premium Motors, the exclusive importer and distributor of BMW vehicles in Nepal, initially commenced BMW’s electrification journey in the country with the introduction of the iX3. Now, they have expanded their lineup by adding the iX1 eDrive20. This compact SUV offers a dynamic blend of performance, efficiency, and style. It is also set to revolutionize the Nepalese electric vehicle (EV) market and redefine luxury driving.
Under the hood, the iX1 packs a punch with its advanced electric drivetrain. The iX1 eDrive 20 is equipped with BMW's fifth-generation eDrive powertrain and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration, providing a peak power output of 150 kW and 250 Nm of torque. It is also equipped with a 64.78 kWh battery pack. It boasts a range of 430km to 475km (WLTP). Charging from 0-100% with an 11kW AC charger takes 6.3 hours, while a 130kW DC fast charger can charge it from 10-80% in just 29 minutes.
BMW has equipped the iX1 with various advanced technologies and modern features. The BMW iX1 measures 4500 mm in length, 1845 mm in width, and stands at a height of 1616 mm. Its wheelbase spans 2692 mm, with a ground clearance of 176 mm. Weighing 1865 kg, it boasts a spacious 490-litre boot that can be expanded to 1495 litres. The vehicle is equipped with 18-inch light alloy wheels featuring a v-spoke design (style 867) with a bi-colour finish. With a tyre profile of 225/55 R18, it enhances its sporty appearance while also providing a secure grip on the road. This all-electric SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and boasts a top speed electronically capped at 170 km/h.
