Coming to its replacement, Bajaj 180F, the semi-faired bike was launched in Nepal this January. A part of Bajaj’s popular Pulsar range, the 180F is priced at Rs 2.50 lakhs in Nepal. Other models, such as Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 180 account for a major chunk of sales in the Pulsar range. The Pulsar 220F is yet another popular bike that has set the cash registers ringing ever since its launch.
The 180F shares a host of elements with the 220F including instrument console, fuel tank, tyres, etc. Though, both vary in mechanical terms with Bajaj Pulsar 180F deriving power from the 178 cc air-cooled, carburetted unit, that makes 17 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 14 Nm torque at 6,500 rpm. It comes paired to a five-speed manual unit. Suspension set up on the bike comprises telescopic forks at the front and dual Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear.
Stopping power on the Pulsar 180F comes from 260 mm disc unit at front and 230 mm unit at the rear, though it misses out on the ABS system. An updated version of the bike is in the making which could receive a slight price hike courtesy addition of new features. In terms of competition, the Bajaj Pulsar 180 F rivals the likes of TVS Apache RTR 180, Honda CB Hornet 160R and Suzuki Gixxer SF among others.
