2023 Proton X50 Launched in Nepal: Complete Specifications and Features

The Malaysian automotive company Proton has officially launched the 2023 version of its popular mid-sized SUV X50 in Nepal. Jagadamba Motors, the authorized distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, has confirmed the launch of the Proton X50 in the Nepalese market. The Proton X50 is a compact crossover SUV produced by the Malaysian carmaker Proton which offers great space and manoeuvrability. Proton is the subsidiary of Geely, a Chinese brand that has been selling its products in the Nepalese market. It also comes with a sleek and modern design, innovative features, and impressive performance capabilities. 


The Proton X70 is available in three different variants in Nepal including Standard, Premium, and Flagship. It is available in two engine options including 1.5T and 1.5TGDi. Both engines are powered by a 1.5L 3-cylinder turbocharged DOHC petrol engine. The 1.5T engine generates a max power of 150 PS at 5500rpm and a max torque of 226 Nm at 1500-4000rpm while the 1.5TGDi engine generates a max power of 177PS and a max torque of 255Nm. This engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with manual mode providing quick and smooth shifts.


The Proton X50 comes with the sporty exterior styling,  a well-equipped interior, and unique styling features. It includes full LED headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, quad tailpipes, an LED colour instrument panel, an automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a remote engine start. It is also equipped with a high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system, a premium sound system, and a range of driver assistance features. In terms of safety, it includes 6-Airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Keep Assist, TPMS, and Auto Park Assist. The car scored a 5-star safety rating in the ASEAN-NCAP crash test.


The Proton X50 price in Nepal is NRs. 71.99 lakhs for the Standard, NRs. 79.99 lakhs for the Premium, and NRs. 84.99 lakhs for the Flagship. It comes in six different colors including White, Silver, Grey, Blue, Orange, and Red. With its bold design, advanced features, and impressive performance capabilities, it's sure to attract attention from car buyers in the Nepalese market.
