Honda Motorcycle and Scooter has officially launched a new limited edition version of its popular 110cc scooter – Dio. The new Honda Dio Sports edition scooter has now been launched in India and the Syakar Trading Company Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of Honda scooters in Nepal is also set to launch the Dio Sports edition in Nepal in the coming days. The overall design of the new Dio scooter embraces an exciting blend of charisma and youthfulness including a sport and edgy outlook making it different from the rest of the rivals.
Honda Dio Sports Edition is offered in two different variants including the Standard and the Deluxe trims. Both of these trims are offered in two new color options making the limited edition stand apart from the regular Dio. Those new color options include - Sports Red with Black and Strontium Silver Metallic paint shades with Black, under both Standard and Deluxe variants. It is also offered with a red-dipped rear cushion spring. This is available in both Standard and Deluxe variants.
The Honda Dio Sports features the same sporty design. It’s equipped with an LED headlight, an LCD instrument console, an integrated dual function switch, an external fuel lid, a passing switch and a side stand indicator. The suspension hardware comprises telescopic front forks and a 3-step adjustable rear shock. Its braking setup includes a 130mm drum brake at both ends including a combi-brake system. It also comes with a wide single comfortable seat and larger under-seat luggage capacity than before.
Mechanically, the Dio Sports remain the same as the previous model while the new variant additionally offers sporty alloys. It is powered by a 109.51cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, PGM fuel-injected engine that generates a maximum power of 7.65 bhp at 8,000 RPM and 9 Nm of peak torque at 4,750 RPM. This engine also gets Honda’s proprietary eSP technology (Enhanced Smart Power & not Electronic Stability Program). The engine comes mated to a CVT. It also comes with a 3-step eco indicator for better fuel efficiency.
The current scooter is priced at NRs. 2,19,900 for the DLX variant and NRs. 209,900 for the STD variant. We can expect Honda Dio Sports Edition in Nepal to be introduced in a few weeks. Honda Dio Sports Edition price in Nepal is set to carry a marginal price premium over the current model. It will compete against the likes of Hero Maestro Edge, TVS Jupiter, and Suzuki Access in the Nepalese market.
