The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has been officially unveiled. Toyota Motors is also set to reveal its all-new compact SUV, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder in Nepal in the coming days. There is no word on the official launch date for the Nepalese market yet. Toyota has opened bookings for its new compact SUV across certain Asian markets too. The SUV has been jointly developed with Maruti Suzuki and will be the first model under the partnership to be manufactured by Toyota the Glanza and Maruti the Urban Cruiser. 

Toyota's new compact SUV is offered with two engine options. It comes with a 1.5L TNGA NA petrol engine as well as it is available in mild- and strong-hybrid versions. The system develops a combined 114 bhp. The petrol unit develops 91 bhp and 122 Nm while the electric motor has a peak output of 79 bhp and 141 Nm. The unit is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes whereas, an e-CVT setup will be available with the strong-hybrid system.

The Hyryder gets a split headlamps design with a high set of LED daytime running lamps flanking the grille. It also comes with a 9-inch infotainment system, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera. The compact SUV also gets a head-up display, wireless phone charger, connected car tech, and a panoramic sunroof. It also comes with safety equipment such as six airbags, ABS with EBD, a tire pressure monitoring system, and vehicle stability control (VSC). The fully-loaded manual additionally gets the option of all-wheel drive. 

The compact SUV is expected to be launched in August 2022. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be available in four trims including E, S, G, and V. Once launched in Nepal, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder will compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Mahindra Scorpio N, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Volkswagen Taigun. The price of Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder in Nepal is expected to be around NRs. 80 lakhs. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be available in seven monotones and four dual-tone color options.
